Frigidaire FGPC1044U1, White Cool Connect Smart Cylinder Portable Air Conditioner for Rooms up to 450-sq. ft

I'm the hot one in the family. And it's SoCal so go figure. Even with the whole house AC turned on I'm still super hot. So that being said, this portable AC does a fantastic job of cooling off my small bedroom.Pros:* It cools off two adjoining bedrooms very well. Approximately 500 square feet. When we don't have the entire house AC turned on this little unit cools my bedroom down very well. Super efficient.*Not too loud, about the same as a box fan.*Easy to turn off and from across the room with the remote.Cons:*Remote has a very weird battery door thingie that I could not get to work. So I finally gave up and just covered the battery with a piece of tape on the back of the remote. Works fine.*The wifi app setup is a piece of garbage. I am a techie and I've tried everything and I can't get the AC unit to load the wifi app so that I can schedule the unit to turn off and on. I'm working with customer support on this and will update my review if I get an answer.*The unit is VERY heavy. So put it where you want it and don't try to move it on carpet.Overall I'm very happy with it. It does a great job of cooling actually gets my room super cold, just the way I like it!

1. Thermostat DOES NOT WORK.. it always indicates a temperature about 10 degrees above the room temperature so IT NEVER stops running, The AUTO mode does not work because the AC its always trying to cool more despite the room being already colder than needed,2. the round remote control is terribly designed, it can only be used with 2 hands as pressing the buttons and holding it with one hand makes the rc fall to the floor often. It also came with worn batteries and I had to buy new ones.3. The exhaust tube doess not have a locking mechanisn to the window panel so it falls often. They send white tape to secure it but that defeats the purpose if one wants to move it around.4. Way noisier than expected.5. Have not been able to setup the wifi/alexa function in many days. The app is so bad and the wifi setup period is so short that its been impossible. Thewifi setup process requires one to register the product entering full customer information and that takes time so the setup period ends and one has to try again. I did it like 4 times and no success.6. Instructions are very minimal.. you have to guess a lot7. THE WORSE PART... when calling customer support theres a message that says that they ARE NOT PROVIDING PHONE CUSTOMER SUPPORT, that they are very sorry for the inconvenience. They recommend CHAT SUPPORT but guess what.. the chat support is inactive so you cant do it either. Terrible.IN SUMMARY: Almost after a week the AC cools but the thermostat, the remote, wifi, Alexa are unusable. I can only do ON and OFF manually. This is the worse AC implementation I have ever seen.

Oh yeah this thing is brilliant. We live in a small apt (~400 square feet) in NYC with no central AC, but big big windows, so one can imagine how hot and humid it gets during the summer (very very hot and humid). We put this in our main room and have a standing fan next to the bedroom door to direct the cool air in. Works perfectly for us. Would recommend, but don’t expect it to do the trick perfectly for a big house. It is pretty loud, but white noise actually helps me sleep so I can’t complain.

This model is a couple years old, so it wasn't easy to find. It looks great, and it works. The outer and Inter box were pretty beat up when it arrived.

Day 2: Looks great, cooling very efficiently in a 12' x 15' dining room with open entry ways to hall and kitchen. I actually was chilly but my son runs hot so I put on a sweater. 90* outside and humid. I would have given all 5 stars but the remote control doesn't work so I'll reach out to the manufacturer on Monday.

Pro: Unique shape, Thin window kit makes it good for awning style windows, Cools ok until it hits the high 80's with low humidity, fairly quiet.Con: 10k btu turns into 5k btu with revised standards, you only find out when the box arrives and its printed on the box at least.It can't maintain 72 degrees in my bedroom which is much smaller than 450 feet.Its set at 72 and you need to change it each time if you want something different.The blower is straight up, need additional fan to mix it out into the room or it will literally cool it's own little area then kick off.The highest fan speed is the same as the lowest fan speed on my LG model. Very disappointing.The WiFi wont sync with my internet. It might stand a chance except stupidly Frigidare combines the WiFi setup with the product registration,,,EVEN when you have already done the registration. Arrgh, talk about frustrating! Why prolong the WiFi step?? The average rural internet speed wont hang in long enough to get it done.It arrived dirty with charcoal smeared on it and the wrap around screen was dislodged and hard to get straight. Occassionally it discharges something like a rock,, maybe charcoal thru the hose. Due to the looks of the packaging I think I received a refurbished model.I have tried to like this thing for almost a month, I'm returning it before things get worse.

This is a very nicely designed portable AC Unit and works well for the most part and a little noisier than I like (not as quiet as a window unit). If you are operating it in a very humid environment place it on something like on a tray so it doesn't ruin your floors that's what customer support told us what the water was from since I have the unit raised on a platform so it can't be accumulation from the internal tank; I have the condensation drain into a sump pump to avoid manually draining it.Our remote that came with the unit didn't work, we're still trying to get a replacement unit.... customer support is not very responsive

Amazing performance. Cools an even larger area than advertised. Great alternative to an older window unit.
