Not "mold", not refined sugar, that is natural fig sugar!
I saw some crazy reviews of this product. The white powdery stuff on the outside is not mold, nor refined sugar. It is natural fig sugar crystalized on the outside of this delicious fruit. I have been a conneseur of figs for 40 years. These are typical of the best, sweetest figs. They are hard to find without the preservative potassium sorbate, which leaves an undesirable taste in figs with that common preservative. These are preservative free, good and good for you.

OMG...the best figs I've ever tasted!
Kind of expensive, but these are fricken fantastic! Best figs I have ever eaten. I have been a Fig Newton fan since I was a young kid and since the cookie that you can buy now is a very far cry from the original Fig Newton, I have been on a quest to find a new fig treat. After trying many different Fig Newton imposters (all unsatisfactory) I started trying dried figs. I have to say that I've really never found one I liked that much until I tried these. These are incredible! Soft, malleable, and sweet! The outside skin almost seems like it is coated with a light dust of sugar (although it's not) and the inside fig pulp is thick and sweet and gooey. I can see why people give them 5 stars. Better than I thought was possible. My quest is finally over!

dried figs
Some of these figs are so dried out and hard I will have to cook with them to make them edible. After the company got ahold of me they helped me with the figs; they told me how to make them moist again, and explained about the fact that after Amazon gets them, they are subjected to heat from storing and shipment temperatures. I will order these and other fruit from this company because they were so nice about telling me information to help me get the most out of my fruit. I will be using these figs in my baking and cooking, as well as the ones I can remoisturize to eat by themselves. Thank you Indus Organic for all your help! I will make sure to order them in the winter and keep them in the refrigerator as well as the freezer.

The best figs on Amazon by far!
I've tried several figures brands offered by Amazon. These are by far the best. They are large, properly dried, and covered in natural sugars. There's no additives or preservatives. That makes them kosher. What you get will without a doubt make you come back for more. Anna and Sarah offer black figs for less money, but you just can't compare those tiny, wet fruits with these amazing, large treats. I did not receive anything for my review. And I don't write many. But I felt compelled to share my opinion on these amazing figs.

Tart and Delicious!
I have been looking for some no sugar or fake sugar added snacks that are more healthy to replace my preferred candy snacks. THESE ARE NOT SWEET, BUT A BIT SOUR! Which is just what I like! There is enough sweet/sour balance for my liking. If you like sour patch this is similar, but without the cloying over-sweet hit. When I get a sugar craving, a handful of these with my afternoon tea calm the craving down. And I don't overeat/binge on these. A handful is enough (I never said that about candy!) I have not used them in baking yet, so can't speak to that. I have added them to my oatmeal, yum, and after soaking in a bit of orange juice, have added to smoothies. Have to run nutri-blender a little longer to fully blend them in, but they can add a nice balance to kale and spinach taste in my smoothies. Anything that helps me choke down the greens... ;-) I will buy these again for sure. Funny that I got an email from company right after I ordered, letting me know that these are SOUR not SWEET. Uh, yeah, it says sour right on the package, folks!

Very disappointed
These were drier than others I've had and the sugar from the figs were crystallized on the outside. I really don't mind that at all and actually liked it that way. The complaint I have is that they tasted fermented which makes me think that they were sitting around for awhile and not very fresh. I ate many of them and didn't get sick--or drunk!--but I don't think I will be buying them again. I threw away the rest because they were tasting more fermented daily. Yes, I kept them in the refrigerator after opening. I thought I had bought them before from this seller and loved them. Maybe it was another brand and I mistakenly ordered these or maybe it is the same seller and I got a bad batch. I'll have to check on that.

I hope these will always be available!
I have always enjoyed dried figs and have for years purchased them happily at the bulk section at my local co-op and at Whole Foods, but one day, needing something to "round out a cart" here at Amazon, I put these in. Oh my gosh-- they are the best dried figs I have ever tasted! I felt weak in my knees when I had the first one. It was unexpected... I mean, if dried figs are good, then I'm ready for that sensation. But when I bit into this Indus dried fig, it was a level beyond good. I've since ordered these on more than one occasion and they are always perfect! They do not have added sugar, so perhaps the way in which they are dried is what makes them so much more superior to what I've had in the past.

next best thing to eating fresh figs
these figs are extra ordinary. they are the only dried figs that i have eaten that are not 'dry'. they are succulent, they are sweet, they are satisfying. they are the best.
