Our grandkids absolutely love this set of magnetized rods and balls. It's fun to see their eyes light up with a creation all their own. And grandpa and grandma enjoy the creations they can come up with too!

My 10 yr old grandson loved it.It only came with pictures of things to make but he soon figured it out.So many things we purchase only come with pictures and no instructions.It was a good problem solving toy.He enjoyed playing with it.

My 9 year old has become obsessed with magnets and was thrilled when I added these to his collection. There are so many different builds he can make with these and they combine well with many other magnet sets

Amended Review: Veatree reached out to me after my original review and offered a replacement set of the building blocks I wanted rather than the ones I purchased, despite the original error being mine. They did not ask me to change my review but I felt it was important to emphasize the excellent customer service this company provides.Original Review: I bought my first set of these in 6/21. They are one of my grandson's favorite toys so I decided to order him a second set. I thought these were identical to the first set (see photo, highlight is mine). I knew that they looked longer is some of the photos but thought this particular set was for the shorter ones.Unfortunately, the rods are 1.25" longer than the first set which definitely effects their construction. My grandson says he can't build pyramids with these new longer rods.It is possible that the more expensive sets that do not say 2.28" are the shorter ones.

I absolutely loved magnets as a child. As someone with a few sensory issues, it’s hard to find toys that can keep me occupied for hours without overstimulating me. These do just that. I got a set of these for Christmas and then had to have another set to build bigger towers. My niece and nephews love playing with them, too! These are great for most ages and are really fun to play with. I sort of feel like a mad scientist when playing with them.

This product is awesome for a first try. I ordered it to see if I could gift this, and I tried to build a dodecahedron. The problem with that is that the pentagons aren't stable . . . of course! Because the pentagon has no inner strength of itself. So, I added 5 studs to each completed side, to keep the pentagons sturdy. When the structure grew, it was impossible to complete it, because it would collapse under its own weight. That was a major disappointment, because I hoped to build even larger structures.--Yes, there are 10 colors, 22 strings of 5 rods, 110 in total, and 40 metal balls.That is quite enough to start with. However, the colors are oddly distributed, and I wondered if this was a mistake. It seems, however, that all sets are as mine (see below).Do you see a problem with 110 rods? 110 can't be divided well by 10. You'd have 11 rods per color, and that is odd (pun intended). Instead, they chose to create an uneven distribution of the number of strings per color, and but keep multiples of 5. But why multiples of 5? None of the structures require that . . .In any case, I got: 5 Dark Blue, 10 Blue, 15 Light Green, 10 Green, 10 Yellow, 20 Orange, 10 Red, 10 Rosy, 10 Magenta, 10 Purple. So, at best you'd get 10 of each, and one color would get 15. But which color would you prefer to have 5 extra rods in? Even so, there doesn't seem a good reason to give a color with only 5 rods; it's almost certainly to be in demand!There isn't a good way to do it, I guess.--UNLESS the product had 120 rods instead of 110! 10 more rods would allow the 10 colors to be evenly represented with 12 rods each. That would make more sense for those into making all the regular polyhedra:- A Cube has 12 edges, as does the Octagon.- You also need 24 rods (a multiple of 12) to make a Cube *stable*, by making pyramids on top of each side (adding 4 rods to each of the 6 sides).- A Tetrahedron requires 6 rods (6 is half of 12, so you could make several single-color Tetrahedra).- A Dodecahedron requires 30 rods (a multiple of 6 AND 5) though, and to make those pentagon sides stable, you'd need an additional 60 rods (a multiple of 12), and 20 metal balls. At the same time, an Icosahedron also requires 30 rods (and just 12 metal balls).--This means that the number of rods are not well-suited to make nice color patterns with these structures.Also, the magnets seem too weak to hold large structures.I tried the rotating carousel from the examples, but it couldn't hold its own weight. It is so unstable, that it's impossible to enjoy the idea.Other structures in the examples are even larger, and impossible to make. Except the pyramid of all the Tetrahedra. It requires 35 metal balls, and 80 rods.--So, you can still build a pyramid, but for experimentation, this set seems inadequate. IMO, this set missed many opportunities to be a potentially awesome construction set.

My kid had lots of fun making stick figures with these. Daddy enjoyed just playing with the power of magnets to push and pull. Lots of kinetic fun. Shame the price has increased though otherwise I would buy more of these.
