SportRack Pursuit Anti-Sway Trunk Mount Bike Rack

After having to returning the Tacklife CBR01 3-Bike rack, I am very satisfied with this item. Compared to the other one, the straps are fully assembled, the straps thingie are all metal, the anchors though ticker have a better grip amd have not scratched my suv (Nissan Rogue). The best part are the straps to secure the bikes. They hook to something and help with stability. I hit the highway at 70 and the bike stayed in place.Finally, I was able to hook it up on my own in less than 15 min first time. Mind you, I'm going crazy because of my earlier experience with same design.In summary, love my purchase so far. Let's see after I troll my bike around the whole week.

First off, the Sportrack Pursuit is a great rack and this model is a nice upgrade over my 20 year old version that this replaces. The ability to easily adjust to fit any sedan, SUV, and even the difficult Toyota Prius is a big feature, you will never have to worry if it fits your next vehicle. The way the cradles and straps work to properly secure your bike is flawless and great engineering yet makes it simple. Yes, people with not so strong hands may have some difficulty securing the straps tightly but even loosely secured straps get the job done so maybe the bike wiggles a little more but don't worry. My only issue with this rack is that it came improperly assembled and somehow passed their Quality Control personnel. The angle adjustment component that attaches to the frame and arms must be glued to to the steel tube structure and they were not secured at all. As a mechincal engineer, I realized the problem and used E6000 adhesive to secure them but most people would not figure this out and the rack is almost useless with this manufacturing defect. I am sure this would be resolved by the manufacturer and I still recommend this rack if it happens to you. Also, I am not a believer that the side straps are necessary and in over 20 years using this rack, I never used them and immediately cut them off. If you tighten the vertical straps properly, there is no issue in sway assuming you are not at the Indy 500 taking corners at 180 MPH. Drive sanely and the side straps are totally unnecessary. The rack is made to such a high quality, expect an unlimited lifetime of use and the straps are replaceable even though my 20 year old straps on the old rack are still good. There are more expensive trunk racks and if money is no object I do like the Saris Bones trunk rack but the Sportrack Pursuit gets the job done very efficiently. Also, there are less expensive trunk racks, do not be fooled by those either.

Worked perfect on a 2012 Corolla over the spoiler. Easy to still open the trunk with it installed (no bikes). The straps are tough but leave them in the sun for a few minutes and they are much easier to get on.

Bought this bike rack based on great reviews on Amazon and the web. Just one issue - I didn't get the bike straps to hold the bike to the racks! I may have returned it but on account of the apocalypse (especially back in June when I bought it) the mail is super slow and it is hard to find bike accessories in stock. I called amazon who told me to call the manufacturer - who happened to be Thule - so I called Thule. A nice lady told me that the Amazon team was supposed to help me but went ahead and filled out a comped order for new straps - Great! Right? Well - fast forward 3 months later and I still haven't received them. Meanwhile I had bought this because, as is often the case when purchasing products, I had an immediate need and had several road trips planned ahead of me. I used some velcro straps that I had also bought to secure the bike to the rack - but because the way the tubes on my mountain bike are angled it was a huge pain. I never lost the bike - but in the 5,000 miles I've had to drive like this (I drove across country and back and to some other places) it did manage to jump off the cradle and scratch my brand new bike in some occasions.It didn't even work with the dual suspension bike at all - so another reason for the low score. Which I realize most people that have dual suspension also invest in a better bike rack system - but sometimes I do ride with friends in my car and it's nice to be able to load them all on the back. At this point I the rack is not usable since I don't want to keep scratching my bike - in the trunk it goes from now on and $90 in the trash.

Shipment took only 2 days. This is my 2nd rack, one for my son's family. We had his bike on the rack last week driving on the highway and even went over quite a few bumps, the rack and the bike were very sturdy. We have to get velcros to tie up all the excessive straps, otherwise, everything is perfect. Good value for the price. Everywhere else wants $169.00.

Se ve sólido, no ajusta muy bien bicis de ruta y de montaña, el único detalle es que a pesar de que es para 3 bicis solo le caben 2 y a lo mucho el cuadro de una 3ra porque por las llantas, se tiene que dejar el espacio de la bici de enmedio libre para poner 2 con llantas.

Easy to install. Pull the straps and don't leave them loose. Good for one bike on a small car. To open the back, needs to uninstall the Rack./ Delivery timing was faire.

Es bueno, es resistente y fácil de instalar, solo deben aclarar que sirve únicamente para carros con cajuela, lo quise adaptar a una suv pero no queda del todo bien.
