A friend of mine purchased these locks and was raving about them, and I needed something to childproof my kitchen, so I decided to give the Baba Jay magnetic locks a go.Ordering and receiving:Shortly after I had placed the order, I received a helpful email thanking me for purchasing the product along with their contact details for any questions I had. The email also had an attachment with very clear instructions on it, which I read and it gave me a cleared understanding of what the product was about.As this was ordered on Amazon Prime it arrived the next day in good condition.My first impressions of the product were really positive! It comes in a really attractive box, with great colours and pictures on it – it looks professionally made.Once the box was open, I poured the contents out onto a table. *One slight complaint is that the box opens from the top, so you cannot see what is inside unless you take everything out. The instruction manual that came in the box is similar to the one received in the email, so I didn't pay much attention to it as I knew what to do.The locks themselves feel quite sturdy, the plastic does not feel flimsy at all. The magnets also feel solid and seem like they’ll last a long time.Installation:The 3m tape easy to peel off, and as the locks are quite small it’s easy to place to them exactly where you want to, even in tight spaces. As the instructions say, it’s easy to move them at the start until you've found the right spot and aligned the locks with the latch. It is definitely much easier to install subsequent locks after you crack the first one!Once you’re happy with the position and have pressed firmly down, the adhesive feels very strong – and my toddler hasn’t managed to pull any off yet.The magnetic keys are easy to store out of reach. I ended up putting the holding discs under top cupboards out of the way but within easy reach – it also means you don’t really see them.All in all I’m really happy with my purchase, I wouldn’t hesitate to get them again.

Easy to put on, discrete and strong lock!

Up until my child became able to use his limbs life was far too convenient. so when at 18 months he developed the ability to smear jam on the tv, terrify all pets, and go to brown town any time we are fully ready to leave the house, I was very pleased with how tediously annoying life had become. And then, lo and behold! He figured out how to open the cupboards! Things I thought safe were now in danger of destruction, and the boy child who I have fastidiously kept alive for so long was in danger of chugging the bleach and eating dishwasher tabs like Haribo eggs.Something had to be done.At first I suggested buying a dog cage to keep the boy in for a few months until the phase passed. But a quick google told me this could mean jail time for me! (Unfair in my opinion as I am quite responsible when it comes to not throwing the contents of my kitchen on the floor!).So next option was to go ultra-minimalist and throw away all our belongings except for one spork per family member.But then, I discovered Magnetic Safety Locks for Cupboards. And whoa! Life took on new meaning! Now he is unable to access the cupboards I can sit in a nearby chair and watch him have a tantrum meltdown about why the cupboard won’t open! It’s truly joyous. Then there is the added bonus that I don’t have a spare hand wasting blood and energy when I open the cupboards, for it is now a two-handed affair.The locks work. They stick on. Bit fiddly to line up but I pride myself on only being 95% inept, so I used my 5% aptitude to work it out and so far so good.Thanks Amazon for improving my life by adding in just one more inconvenience.

Yes yes yes. I tried so many of them, and found this one works perfectly. It’s very easy to use, and the magnet is very strong. My son manage to take off all of the previous one, where this one is still on.Fits cupboards and drawers

I love this product now that I have put a few on and understand the positioning on the doors. They are critical and have to be mm perfect, but once on in correct place they work brilliantly. I really like being able to disable them during the week when little ones aren’t here. Our walls are plasterboard and the corners supported by metal edges which are perfect for the magnet release tool. Unfortunately one has already stopped working and I hope this is not representative of the long term reliability of a good product

The media could not be loaded. I've had a set like this with my first one, this was hands up the best child lock solution I've tried. The magnet is very strong! Just make sure the surface is clean, dry, and press strongly for 30sec when applying. Also, you have to give adhesive 24hr to stick on properly, so disengage the little trigger.This particular product has been upgraded since I got it last, it now comes with 2 magnets for opening the locks (easy to lose! we always keep it high up on the fridge), also it has little screws and holes on the locks so they can be additionally secured. I used it without the screws before and they are strong. Another bonus are little see through stickers if you struggle to remember where the lock is. I normally just put the lock in the middle of the cupboard so it's easy to aim.Overall would highly recommend. Brilliant product and with extra upgrades, very user friendly and effective.

At first I was reasonably impressed with how easy they were to install but unfortunately they are not built to last. After two weeks of normal use the plastic became fatigued and stuck in the shut position despite endless attempts at trying to unlock them. Not ideal when you need whats inside the cupboard. I would avoid.
