My daughter is blind & has mild cerebral palsy. She quickly figured out how to attach the handle with my verbal instructions & really loves the leverage it gives her while getting in & out of our car. I have a broken ankle & will try it out next time I drive somewhere. It feels like it will work great. Very sturdy. Bought Vive’s model because a) it’s a great brand & b) the part that attaches to the door is designed not to scratch the car’s paint, unlike other brands made of metal. It’s solid, heavy & durable. My daughter also really loves how the handle makes a clicking sound when it attaches to the lock loop, so she knows when it’s secure enough to use. Definitely worth the extra money. Recommended by the AARP in an article about best 2026 cars for the elderly.

Looking for better than average vehicle entry / exit assist handle? This is the tool. Has very good door latch gripping power. Not slippery or can mar door jamb finish with metal-to-metal contact that other assist tools have. Love the silicone base friction finish. Price is also very reasonable. Ultra quick deliver in my location. Can easily handle 200-pound downward force when using. Easy to throw in the glove compartment or door pockets.

A wonderful idea. This helps not only getting in but out of the car as well. It works so well, I've purchased this same handle assist for several other family members. It is durable, good strength and feel when being used. A great value as it's saved several of the family from falls while getting out of the car. Easy to use and store away. If you have an elderly person or even someone who has difficulty getting in and/or out of a vehicle -- this is a game changer. I recommend this product.

My wife is relatively small -- she says she is "concentrated" -- and suffers (silently) from sciatica. Hence, getting in and out of our two cars is problematic for her. (I am tall, and can grab the upper door jamb of the car to hoist myself out.) She seems to like these, and finds them useful. I keep one in her car, driver's side (the door pocket thing), and one in my car, passenger side (ditto). Easy to "install", and helpful. One still needs to "apply" them -- put them in the door's "hook" -- and have the strength and range of motion to use them. But as leg-muscle-assistants, they are perfectly legitimate, and comfortable to use. Worth a try for the cost, $22. 4 Stars. A personal assistant might be 5 stars. I try to help, but she's impatient.

I use this for transport into and out of car each time. It is so handy and makes it easier to pivot from walker to car and vice versa. It’s like an extra handle assist in and out of car door But even if you just needed an extra handle to get in or out, this would work as well. You don’t have to be disabled like me.
