Watersafe Bacteria Water Test Kit (Parameters: Coliform Bacteria)

I looked around for a test kit to sample the water coming from my filtration system in Spain. The system had not been used due to us not being there and a water treatment friend told me to rip the system out and replace it. However the lady in the shop I bought it from said it was not necessary if I replaced all of the filters and used the solution she could provide. It was not a 2 minute job but we followed it all via you tube and on completion used the sample kit. I am happy to say the test kit gave me confidence and I was the first to sample the water and after 2 days of drinking the water I am perfectly fine. I would not have been so confident had I not used this water sample test kit to prove the bacteria had all been removed. I saved around 100 euro allowing for the new filters and sanitizing solution and about 3 hours of my time

I tested water from my bore hole and it passed OK. seemed a lot of money for a tiny plastic vial with a tiny amount of powder though.

Every picture shows two tests, only one test included in the text. Not impressed, very expensive.

Disapppointed as not in the packaging shown on the advert The item i got also states it is a drinking water test kit and not just a bacteria water test kit. I needed this to check non drinking water which is a different quality of supply and in my eyes now may be too sensitive and show false results on what the quality of water from a tank should be.

When arrived, it was a plastic zip-lock bag, a piece of double-sided printed card, one screw-cap (roughly three inches/six centimetres, in length) vial containing a powder. Followed instructions, added tap water, tightened cap, shook vigorously and then the problem: it has to be stood for 48hours in a temp of between 70-90 degrees. Wasted money. Inconclusive result due to high standing temp demand. Unless you have a lab-based incubator, forget it, as the test will always stay purple - bacteria 'free' result.
