I was disappointed by this book because it only provides a very general overview of major designers and the more popular styles of costume jewellery. It is not a comprehensive guide. It didn't really tell me anything new, so it is probably most appropriate for someone who is completely new to collecting costume jewellery and not someone who already knows a bit about it. The book title sub-heading sums it up really: Key styles and how to recognise them. I had expected a bit more breadth.

Surprised at what a great reference book this turned out to be. I probably have close to 200 books on the subject of vintage and antique costume and semi precious jewelry and this book is a standout. Such a great reference book with good photos as well
