Fantastic shrooms
These mushrooms don't take too long to rehydrate, I left mine in a cereal bowl covered by an inch of boiling water. Gave them a little stir and used them with a nice steak. The rehydration liquor I used in a sauce which really punched the flavour right up. (Strain through a sieve). Absolutely fantastic and well worth it. A fabulous upgrade to boring supermarket shrooms. Going to use again with steak tonight as I wrote this post but forgot to submit a couple of weeks ago. Used several times in stir fry and pasta dishes. I will get more when used up. Fantastic

Tasty
Really good in a cream sauce but you must soak them overnight.

Great in Risotto!
These dried mushrooms come in a resealable pouch. They're a brighter colour than I expected and easy to work with - soak them in water for ten minutes then good to go!They're packed with flavour while not overpowering. We've been throwing these in to risotto and they've come out wonderfully, adding plenty of umami and mushroom flavour to it.The only issue with these is that at about £200 a kilo, they're quite pricey - though they go a fair way with just a small handful needed.

Aromatic earthy woodsy, with deep and rich flavour of umami and nuttiness
With their golden-yellow hue and irregular shape, these mushrooms are hard to miss. The frilled edges, fanning out like flower petals, make them a real visual treat. After being dried, their colour has deepened a bit, and they have shrunk down, but their distinctive shape has held up, making them instantly recognisable even in their dried form.Upon opening the well-sealed bag they arrived in, I was greeted by an intensely aromatic, earthy-woodsy fragrance, with hints of apricot and a faint, musky sweetness. The aroma is rich and inviting, with a complexity, unlike the simpler aromas you would find in supermarket mushrooms, with a bit more depth and character to it.Before cooking, the mushrooms feel light and slightly brittle, with a firm texture that snaps when pressed, but they are not so dry that they crumble into dust. After a quick soak in hot water for 10 minutes, they transform into something quite special – chewy, tender, and with a meaty bite. The gills and caps rehydrate beautifully, holding their shape without turning soggy or rubbery.Tasting them after rehydration, their flavour is deep and rich, packed with umami and that comforting, earthy note you’d expect from wild mushrooms. There is also a subtle fruity touch, like a whisper of apricot or dried fruit, plus a nuttiness that reminds you of toasted nuts. It is a flavour that brings a lovely complexity to any dish you add them to.Once cooked, their earthy flavour does shine through, complemented by a delicate sweetness. The texture is smooth and tender, but still with a satisfying bite. Whether sautéed, stewed, or stirred into a creamy sauce or soup, they hold their own beautifully, adding their earthy-woodsy, slightly fruity richness without losing their character. All in all, I am very impressed by how good these mushrooms turned out: rich, aromatic, and full of flavour. They have got that kind of bold, earthy flavour you just do not get from shop-bought varieties. I added them to a risotto, and suddenly it was less “midweek dinner” and more “rustic dinner party”, everyone noticed (even the fussiest eaters in the house had something nice to say).I would absolutely recommend them if you get the chance to try them out. They are a little wild luxury in every bite!

Great quality
These dried chanterelle mushrooms are good quality, they rehydrate nicely. They are quite earthy and strongly flavored. Definitely great in soups, pasta, and risotto. It would be excellent to mix these with variety of dried mushrooms and cream for mushroom soup during winter. Good value considering these tend to be pretty pricey and the quality is good

Well worth considering
Unlike fresh mushrooms these can be kept in the cupboard for ages and used as required. It takes only a few minutes to hydrate them ready for use.Dried mushrooms are roughly 10% of the weight of fresh mushrooms so the 40g pack is the equivalent of around 400g of fresh Chanterelles. So the price is reasonable.

Dried mushrooms
Great dried mushrooms, which are quick and easy to rehydrate before cooking them as you wish.Really tasty and once rehydrated, they get the classic mushy chewy texture typical of mushrooms.
