Venice Pocket Map and Guide (DK Eyewitness Travel Guide) Paperback – 1 April 2016

I was very surprised at how helpful and clever this little guide book was. I spent 2 weeks travelling around Italy on the trains and this little guide was a big help. Light and as descibed, fits in your pocket. Text is a bit small and may prove difficult to read for people with sight problems but other than that, i would have been lost without it.....literally.Full of helpful tips and important information. Also includes train routes, bus stops and restaurant suggestions with a pricing index to show you a variation of cheap to expensive places to eat. For places of interest, it will tell you if there is an admission charge and helpful tips on getting tickets.I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Venice

Unfortunately i cannot comment on the product much but my dog loved the booklet. Because the delivery driver instead using the external letter box he put the package through the door so the dog eat that :(

Good book but a. Lot smaller than expected. We hen they say pocket size thy mean that. If you have poor eyesight then this is not for you as writing small. Otherwise good layout and map is of city and also the vaparetto stops and service numbers

Plenty of useful info and the map is helpful, what I wasn’t aware of is how small it is. Yes I know it said pocket guide, but somehow hadn’t realised they are very small pockets. Ok if you’re eyesight good.so...book in one pocket, magnifying glass in the other then.

Ideal for quick glance information, especially if you are only carrying a small bag. Maps are good for finding the larger sights, however if you are trying to find a specific small street (Venice is a bit of a warren) you would need a better map or a good mobile app instead. Some nice recommendations for eating and markets.

On our recent trip to Venice we never went out without this guide and particularly the map. Amazing how much walking one can do in a city of canals! Having read up the history of Venice before our visit, this guide has enough information to remind you of the best sights to cram into a short visit - you cannot see everything in a week! Very handy size and used extensively. And for only a couple of pounds it was great value.

Was only in Venice for 4 days and this tiny guide was perfect for navigating streets and vaporetto stops. We didn't visit any of the churches or museums, and if we had the guide might have been too brief, but suited our 'wander and absorb' agenda very well indeed.

I don't know why I didn't buy the pocket guides for other trips. It's perfect for roaming the city with a great map and other references in a small book - about the size of a check book. It's a condensed version of the larger DK Eyewitness Travel Guide but much easier to carry around the city.
