It has been years since I put together a model. I was not sure of the scale and I wanted something that my boy could help put together, but as it turned out the scale of 1:720 is very small. And he was not of much help as the parts were very small and delicate. (I used a magnifying glass and tweezers at times.) The box it came in looked pretty big, so I thought that it would be an ok size, as it turned out the box was 5 inches longer than the actual model...so that was very deceiving. It does come with a motor and gears to make two of the three shafts rotate and lights to come on. This is pretty cool, but you cannot put it in the water. If you are not familiar with DC electrical systems and don't have a soldering iron...you'll be lost. The instructions are very limited and not clear at all. Rule # 1 says to, "Study the instructions carefully prior to assembly." They are not kidding! At the bottom of instructions is a list of the different paints you'll need, but you don't use all of the ones listed...so you'll need to go thru each step and just obatin the paints that are on those steps and not at the bottom of the instructions.Due to the small size, some of the pieces are flimsy and don't fit together well. The decals are the type of the 1970's when I use to put models together....so they didn't work well at all. First you place them in water to loosen the glue, and then might as well throw them away as I did.Kitech is a Chinese company and hence the model is made in China...as they probably all are....say no more about that!!!My son is happy with it, but I know it will not last very long, so I am planning on getting another Titanic by Revel (a German company) which is a 1:400 scale and will be about 27 inches long.So now we are planning to sink this one by using some firecrackers (instead of an iceberg)after we build the bigger one.

RMS Titanic 1/720 scale
I bought this ship because it had a motor in it and I thought that would be interesting to run it in water. However, the engine always stops running and the small gears are always jamming and getting stuck. Also, many pieces are oversized and do not fit well with the model. Whenever I would turn the switch on, the light would shine but the motor would not work. I would have to always take off the boat deck to try and fix the motor. Also the propellors spinned backwards and therefore the ship went backwards when you could turn the engine on. The kit did not come with any decals and the instructions are just terribly confusing. At first, I couldn't figure out how to install the motor and lights. When I finally figured out how to install the motor and wires, while I was doing this, I realized that there were not enough wires. Also, for the plastic stand that the model is placed on the title was not "Titanic" but some Chinese writing.
