Deluxe Exerciser

I bought the DE to replace a similar one I got from the Sharper Image (no longer in business) 5 years ago. In comparison two things I don't like about the D E: the highest tension setting is only moderate; also the pedals are great for hand gripping but hard to keep one's feet on.

Not enough resistance. I bought it for the specific purpose of middle-of-the-night restlessness and while it serves that purpose adequately, it would certainly disappoint anyone who thought they'd actually get a work out!

Exerciser kept creeping forward while pedaling, made it a little difficult.

I bought this for myself but my husband is getting more use out of it than I am. It's a bit difficult for my hands, maybe I just need to strengthen before I try it again.

This is the least quality exerciser you would want to purchase. investing money in anything cheaper, will find you regretting your purchase. this bike is heavy enough to stay stationary and not walk across the floor or carpet, smooth enough and not be jerky while cycling. easy to assemble in 5-10 minutes. Dr suggested a cheaper model, but i'm so glad i went with a better quality.

I rated this item 1 only because a rating of zero was not an option. Bought this item and began to enjoy using it, admittedly sporatically. But only 82 days after I ordered it (and about 70 days after it arrived) a pedal fell off because the bolt holding it to the crank was stripped and the Chinese factory did not apply the locktite properly. I emailed the Footsmart company asking how to get the $100 product fixed or exchanged and I got the following standard, apparently computer generated, response: "Thank you for your recent email inquiry regarding our returns procedure. We do have a generous 60-day return/exchange policy. You placed your order on 04-07-11, which unfortunately exceeds the time limit. We are unable to accept a return/exchange for this order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Again, thank you for contacting Customer Care at FootSmart.com, and if you require further assistance please feel free to contact us. Sincerely, FootSmart Customer Care" I wouldn't call this a "generous return policy" nor a legitimate customer service response to my inquiry which didn't even mention a return.After trying three emails to get some resolution and only getting the same canned response, I tried to call the Customer Service number listed on the product docs and web site and was directed to a national call directory service where I could get the real company phone number, for an exorbiant service fee. I gave up all hope of getting any satifaction from this scum bag of a company and took the exerciser to a local bike shop and got it fixed with no help from FootSmart. Be forewarned; this is not a company to do business with.

Purchased the deluxe exerciser for my 87 year old mother who is a diabetic. So far she loves it! She said she is peddling for 10 minutes 3 times a day.

The picture shows the plain, not deluxe item. The deluxe item is more comfortable for me. The little cushioning provided on the grip ends makes it much more pleasant to use. Shipping is timely and appreciated!
