Tyler Gallon Laundry Detergent - High Maintenance 128 oz.

I have been using this detergent for several years and I finally decided to write a review because of how impressive it is. Let me preface that by saying I never leave reviews! I love the High Maintenance scent; it has a light floral scent with Amber undertones and maybe a hint of patchouli (don’t quote me on that, I am not a versed connoisseur of fragrances). When I say floral I don't mean a rich, sickening floral. It’s truly the perfect combination and my favorite of all the Tyler scents. Actually, make that any detergent scent. As far as a detergent, it doesn’t leave any marks on clothes from not dissolving or being diluted enough, and it doesn’t irritate my skin! I have extremely sensitive skin. I’ve had a few detergents cause severe allergic dermatitis, so I’m wary when it comes to new products. But I was given a small bottle as a gift and I have been a customer since. I realize it is a bit expensive, but it truly only takes 1/3 cup per load and if you buy the 128 oz bottle, it reduces the cost quite a bit and it lasts a LONG time! The scent on my clothes lasts a long time as well. I am always getting compliments on how nice my clothes and linens smell. I love getting out of the shower and using my great smelling towels and then changing into my clothes that smell the same way and then getting into bed that also smells wonderful! It makes for a wonderful night’s sleep, truly. I am a travel nurse, and there have been times I had to stay where there was a shared laundry room. I found that the 54 oz clear bottle (pictured and also bought on Amazon) fit nicely in my laundry caddy and was much better for transport. I ended up liking the tidiness it provides, so I’ve continued to use it the same way at home. I keep the bigger bottle in a cabinet and refill the smaller bottle as needed. I also like that I can see through the bottle. I hadn’t realized before using the clear container that you really do need to lightly shake the bottle before using. It becomes more concentrated at the bottom as it settles, so make sure you give it a mix before use! I hope this helps! I do realize I also semi reviewed the detergent container as well, but I do love it and it really works well with this bigger bottle! *I am not paid for my opinion, and I purchase all of my own detergent (and laundry containers, caddy etc…)! 😁

I thought to myself I may have lost my mind in purchasing such an expensive product to do my laundry with. However, I am not a fan of things like fabric softener and I like things like my bed linens and lingerie as well as my jeans to have that extra softness and lovely scent. I thought it would be a good idea to at least give this a try because I have heard so many wonderful things about it. I am very pleasantly surprised. Most notable is it's actual cleaning ability! It actually DOES get stains out quite well and I didn't think that it would. I cannot say that it is cost-effective because we know that it's not but the fact of the matter is that you don't have to use very much of it at all NOR do you need to use fabric softener with it. SO, in the grand scheme of things, it probably comes out relatively close to regular laundry detergent. Just as I am not a fan of fabric softener at all because it is nothing but wax with perfume in it and it actually does end up ruining my clothes and dryer, I am not a fan of the popular big brands of laundry detergent either. I find them quite degenerative to fabric over time. THIS product seems to actually be extremely gentle but quite effective at taking out dirt and stains while leaving the fabric silky feeling! One of the first things I noticed, on the very first load of laundry that I did, was that the bed linens that I washed with it did not require any pressing/ironing when they came out of the dryer at all. My sheets are very high quality super high thread count pure cotton which tends to come out wrinkly. Again, because I do not like to use fabric softener I always have to press the linens before storing them or putting them on my beds. My linens did not have wrinkles in them when I took them out of the dryer and felt extremely silky. This product does not produce that waxy feeling that fabric softener imparts after a few washes and I have washed my linens four times in it already. I waited quite a while before making a review so I have had plenty of time to evaluate how well this product works. As far as the fragrance is concerned... I do not find it overpowering at all like I was afraid that it might be. In fact, after I washed my nightgowns and robes in it I was mildly irritated that they did not have what I felt was a detectable scent. HOWEVER I was WRONG! I noticed in the first day after washing my night clothes in the product that every once in awhile I'd get a waft of pleasant fragrance. It seems that the fragrance is actually in the fibers of the fabric and when you move the scent is very gently released and therefore not overpowering and in your face. It lets off very gentle wafts of fragrance that make you wonder where it came from and wanting to smell more. I have to say that I am quite pleased with this product even at the price. It is something that I will be keeping in my special cleaning supplies and using for my jeans, lingerie, bedding, and nightclothes such as my nightgowns and bathrobes. It cleans well, imparts of very gentle fragrance which is not overpowering, greatly reduces wrinkles, does not leave a waxy buildup like fabric softener, and leaves your fabric feeling silky and almost regal. The only negative thing is that it is extraordinarily thin so you must be very careful when you are pouring it. I used to work in a laboratory and I know that they can make it thicker by adding a sodium to it. Why they have not done that I do not understand. Perhaps it would interact negatively with the fragrance or the element that makes the fabric come out silky. Just be very careful when you are pouring it so that you don't pour too much. OH! That reminds me! If you do want to impart a little extra scent, put about a teaspoon of it into your fabric softener dispenser instead of fabric softener. That will impart an extra oomph of fragrance to your finished product. BTW... I purchased the little tiny bottles of each scent to try them out. While many people rave about the Diva scent, I do not like it AT ALL. I love the French Quarter and the High Maintenance. The other fragrances I didn't care for.

I’ve been using Tyler Candle Company’s High Maintenance laundry detergent for over three years now, mainly on my sheets and towels, and I absolutely love it. The scent is fresh, clean, and lasts a long time — my linens smell amazing even days after washing. To make the bottle last a little longer, I like to mix it with a fragrance-free detergent, and it still keeps that wonderful scent without being overpowering. A little goes a long way! This detergent definitely adds a touch of luxury to my laundry routine. Highly recommend!

The aroma is perfection! Not overpowering, but definitely can smell its beautiful scent. I wash my clothes and bed sheets with it. When I open my closet I get a whiff of its delightful smell. Also, so nice to have fragrant sheets when climbing into bed. I have smelled the other scents that Tyler has. They are all nice but High Maintenance stands out the best! I also purchased the dryer scented bead bags to layer the scent on the laundry. The laundry detergent works great, and only have to use a small amount. Hint… I use a splash in my mop bucket when mopping the floors. The whole house smells amazing. Going to add it to spray bottles for baths and kitchen too!

Smells awesome! Little goes along way. It’s expensive, but my clothes smell so good! Husband impressed. We use no scent tide with this so it stretches the amount needed per load.

It smelled good, more of a light scent. The only thing wrong with it is after washing the linens and towels, my grands had a reaction with a rash and itching. 😞
