ClarksMen's Desert Chukka Boot

Clark's has won me over
Pros-Soft crepe soleColor variety in both suede and smooth leatherThree season boot that doesn't overheat your footCons- long break in period (as are most Clark's)Sole gets dirty quicker than syntheticsIve recently joined the Clark's bandwagon after years of contemplation. Price point has never been an issue because if you care for these shoes they'll do more for you than you could ever imagine from a cheaper boot.I also have a pair of chukkas in suede from Nunnbush and Clark's. Obviously I bought a pair in beeswax because I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort of the suede Clark's after a week (these are the 65th anniversary Clark's). My foot size ranges from an 8.5-9 but I went a full size down and ordered a 7.5. A tight fit but I know that after the break in period I prolly wont stop wearing these shoes. The main difference I found between my suede Clark's and NunnBush is that the sole is far heavier and gives the boot a quality feel. I'm not huge on the fact that the sole picks up just about anything but my NB have synthetic soles, that in 8-9 months time, have already worn down the tread. I also find myself slipping easier on linoleum with these then I do my Clark's. The only better thing about my NB, aside from price, is that the shoe has a soft interior and the upper starts to age nicely. However the cheap foamy insert and, for lack of a better word, tacky colored synthetic outsole made me finally switch over and I decided Clark's was the answer.I'm very pleased and satisfied with this purchase. The color is perfect and the fit is superb. I find another issue with other chukkas is that there is sometimes too much room in the toe box and having narrower feet means my foot is sliding around. With regards to people saying that the leather creases and cracks easily should condition and polish these before wear and you won't have that issue. Also fyi; leather is going to do that, especially if it's dry and traveling in a box.

Fantastic boots, definitely a great pair to start with too!
I bought these because they were strongly suggested to me as a first pair of nice leather boots to wear. Boy were they right! However, the fit isn't true to size. Not a big deal, but if you read this I would strongly suggest going a half-size down from your true shoe size. The color of the boots looks great, and the crepe sole is incredibly comfortable walking on. After repeated wear, the leather gets broken in nicely, and the leather develops a nice patina. If the wear isn't your thing, I'd suggest getting some leather conditioner to try to restore an even color to it, but I still suggest letting the leather keep it's worn-in look (unless it gets excessive, plus it's actually good to condition the leather occasionally). Two minor considerations I have with these boots are with the crepe sole and the inside Inside the shoe there really isn't much for support, especially in the heel. During the break in process, I had to wear thicker socks because the heel piece rubbed against my heels and made them considerably sore. Now it's not so bad and I feel more confident wearing any socks with the boots. Also, the crepe sole is pretty fragile. It is called a "Desert Boot", so don't expect these to work well in the winter. I only had to deal with that because I am originally from the Northern Midwest. All in all, these are some awesome good-looking boots that I hope to keep for a good deal of time!

Fantastic boots with the exception of the shoe laces!
I have never been a big connoisseur of fashion, much less shoes and boots. I used to go around wearing sneakers all the time for every event I'd go to whether it was class, a walk, a party, a nice dinner with a date, or something else. I finally decided to upgrade to Sperrys a year or two ago and wore only them for nearly 8 months time. After seeing the wear and tear consistent and daily use did to my Sperrys I decided to look into getting some more shoes - particularly a pair of shoes or boots that I could wear in the winter that would go well with jeans.Lo and behold, I found the Clarks Desert Boots! I purchased these shoes in early November and have been wearing them most days for daily use this winter. And let me say, they have been amazing!Pros:- They have an authentic look- Very comfortable, even for extended periods of wear- They seem very rugged and durable for everyday use - much more so than the sperrys I was wearing beforeCons:- They seem to run a half size to a size bigger than most other shoes. I guess this is relatively common knowledge, but definitely still something to note- No soles whatsoever on the bottom meaning they aren't the best for outdoor activities. I get that these boots aren't built for that so it probably isn't really a con, but it was one of those things that as an ignorant buyer I was not aware of.- The shoelaces are garbage. Absolute garbage. I've been using these shoes for a little over 3 months and both of the shoelaces have snapped in half. These shoes are built to last, why give them shoelaces that give out after a few months of activity? I am very disappointed in this aspect of these shoes and is the sole reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.Overall, I highly recommend these shoes. For a price point averaging around $100-110, you can't beat these shoes in regards to style or build quality. Just make sure you purchase some extra sets of laces!

Absolutely love them; just waiting on my waterproof leather was before I start wearing them. When I tried it on, it was a snug fit; this should change once I've broken them in.

Un Clásico sin lugar a dudas
Un par de Clarks color miel es lo único que se necesita para lucir genial con cualquier combinación. Créeme, este par nunca sobrará en tu armario.

Very comfortable!
Purchased these for a trip abroad, as they had great write-ups on various sites for comfort while doing a lot of walking. Great fit, were true to size, for me. They took a week to break in, did help them along with coconut oil. Really like the quality, would purchase another pair. Walked > 10 - 18k a day for a couple of weeks and my feet were very comfortable the entire time.
