Such a perfect gift
Bought this train for my son for the Christmas season. It's so cute and works perfectly. The figures are so cute and it really gets us in the mood for Christmas. He loves it and won't stop playing with it around our Christmas tree.

Cute and Festive, but Could Be More User-Friendly
This Christmas Train Set is very plasticky but undeniably cute. If handled with care, I think it could last for a few Christmas seasons. The train and wagons have a decent amount of detail, which adds to its charm. The set also comes with some foldable cardboard pieces to create a small scenario, and there are colorful gift boxes you can assemble and place in the cargo wagon—a nice touch.Installing the battery isn’t too difficult, but it requires a small Philips screwdriver (not included), which might be inconvenient if you don’t already have one. Charging the battery is another story—it has to be removed and connected to a USB charging cable (wall adapter not included). It would’ve been so much easier if they’d added a basic USB charging port directly on the train instead of making you unscrew the battery every time it needs charging. The train has two operating modes: with music and without, which is a nice option. However, getting the steam to work was a frustrating experience. Theoretically, you just add water to the small reservoir behind the smokestack, but it took me several tries and some shaking to finally get it going. It’s not intuitive, and I’m still unsure how I’ll empty the reservoir when it’s time to store the train—there’s no drain or valve for that.Assembling the tracks is straightforward, but they’re not snap-on tracks. You need to use small connectors to keep them together, which are easy to lose and not ideal for homes with small kids. The tracks themselves are wobbly and very flexible, so they really need to be placed on a flat, stable surface. Thick rugs or carpets just won’t work, and the train will derail easily. It is marked as a 3+ year toy, but it is definitely not due to the whole battery and assembling thing. It is more like a 10+ toy.Despite all the tricky and imperfect details, it’s still a lovely addition to the Christmas decor. It adds a fun and nostalgic touch under the tree, even if it takes a bit of patience to get everything set up.

Cute!
My husband is a food distributor and regularly builds displays in stores. He wanted this for one of his displays, but it was too big. It’s now at home, but not going under our tree. We figured our kiddo would like it to play with, and she was super excited! The train sounds are really cool, and it also plays Christmas music. The track and train seem really well built. The little cardboard Christmas boxes were easy for the 4yo to build. It’s a cute set!

Pure Joy!
The media could not be loaded. This is an awesome train set! The unpacking of the train set from the box and the emotions of exhilaration of little kids are unforgettable! The tracks are large, you can put a sizable Christmas tree inside of the tracks easily. Tracks are easy to assemble for a child, no parental intervention is required, the cars are easy to put together as well. The set comes with a rechargeable battery, you will need a little Philips screwdriver to open the battery compartment, the screwdriver does not come with a set. The on and off button are on the very top of the locomotive and when you put the button in the middle, it will start playing music and when it starts blaring Too-Too, the smoke comes out of the locomotive pipe, if you put water into the little compartment of the top of the locomotive. This set also comes with cardboard cutouts that enhance the experience, then are fun, and can be played along with the set or as a separate toy altogether. All around great train set and is a great find, everything works, no flaws whatsoever!

Light and cheap feeling but looks good
Plastic feels pretty cheap but the train does look good and will work perfectly under our tree. My daughter is so excited to finally have a train circle our tree. She had a lot of fun putting this together. The track ramp piece that allows the train to go from the floor to on the track is genius. This makes placing the train on the track so much easier. I remember so many times growing up getting frustrated trying to get all the wheels on the track. The screws on the wheels were poorly put in, I got them in better with a screwdriver but they still look crooked.I had a lot of trouble getting the "smoke" to work and when I did get it to work it would work for a few seconds then stop. We have only had the train out for a day to test it before putting it away until christmas so maybe I can figure it out next time. When it works it looks great!I am pleased this comes with a rechargeable battery. I hate buying tons of AA. I wish this had a charging port on the train instead of having to open up the bottom and pull the battery out to charge it. Would have made things a little easierThe cardboard decorations are cool and again my daughter loved putting these together and placing them around the track but I do not see them lasting long especially with a 4yr old moving them around a lot.

Christmas train with music and smoke!
My eldest son moved out some years ago and this is the first year he got really into Christmas and bought himself a tree and lights. I asked him what I could get him to augment his Christmas decorations and he asked for a train, so I sent him this one.The train makes realistic-looking "smoke" after you add a little water to it. The on/off switch has three positions: off, on (no sound), and on (sound). When the sound is on it plays Christmas songs. He quickly assembled the track around his tree. It's totally adorable. We love it.

Cute, but cheaply made
It's not bad for an inexpensive Christmas decoration. It's brightly colored and should be lots of fun for little ones. There are lots of small pieces, though, so they should be closely supervised. In fact, a small piece came off the engine during opening the package. It fit back on without issue, but would definitely be a choking hazard.

Cute train, cheaply made
For the price the train is decent. It doesn't seem like it will last super long with the way it was made. The steam feature was very cute. My children like the songs it plays too.
