Did a tuneup on the RV generator and this was one of the components that i replaced. It was pretty easy.: took the old one out, put the new one in. I saved a ton by not taking it to the RV ripoff shop.July 2019 updateDropped it a star. As the fates would have it, after tuning up the generator my fuel pump stopped working. Thoguht it would be simple to jsut onscrew this fuel filter and put it on the new one, but nope. This thing will not come off. Instead of spinning aound the threads, it spins around the male plug and the hub of the filter. It wasnt crossthreaded or anything either. So that makes me think that a future tune up would have resulted in me ripping the generator apart. Not really happy with this guy.

Fuel pump had died on my generator, and I installed this with the new pump. Identical aftermarket replacement for the filter on my Microlite 4000, at half the cost of an Onan Cummins branded filter.

It said Amazon’s choice. I’m sorry I made it my choice. It seemed to strip out and not snug down appropriately. Cheaply made compared to Onan OEM part I removed. Will order OEM part soon to replace this one. I’m worried it’ll start leaking.Update:My OEM part arrived. I went to change out this cheaper one. It won’t come out. The housing part that your 9/16 socket goes over, turns, but the threaded part that screws into the fuel pump doesn’t. No other access to remove it without removing fuel pump too. I’m stuck with this one. Luckily it still doesn’t leak. Ugh!Update II:I was able to apply JB weld to reconnect the filter. It worked and I removed this cheap filter and put my Onan OEM one on. Whew!

Great product at a great price!! This is a OEM replacement part and fit without any problems. Just unscrew and unclamp the fuel line and reattach this one. Generator ran like a new one. I will buy another for a spare.

This fuel filter was a perfect fit for my Cummins Onan 4000 EVAP Generator. If you need to change yours, do yourself a favour and replace the fuel pump at the same time. It a pain to get to and you have to remove it th o get the filter off anyway. I bought both at Amazon. The filter cost almost as much as the pump.
