Hape Quadrilla Twist and Rail Set – 98 Piece, 50 Marble

This was by far the bes christmas present my 3 year old son ecieved this year. Every day we set up a new layout. Every time his friends come over- this is the toy that entertains them the longest!!!We added on several of the expansion sets to give us more flexability and have never regretted the purchase. It is expensive, but during Christmas we purchased this urn for $90.00 through Amazon, so they do go on sale! Also, this is a very well made wooden toy that will last well into adulthood!! (My husband and I play with it as much as the kids) When my son grows tired if it, which will happen some day, I will put it away for his children. It's that type of toy.I do have two wishes though.1. I wish Quadrilla would offer the marble catchers that you can put at the end of the track again. They have been discontinued as an extension set. They prevent the marbles from running all over the room. We went to the local hardware store, bought some wood and made some of our own. They work great, but it would have been easier to get the ones made for the set.2. I wish Quadrilla would offer components that would move when the marbles run through them to show cause and effect. I love how many other sets have wheels that spin when the marble passes through! It would be a great add on and would make the set even more exciting!!!Overall, if you've been considering purchasing this toy.... do it!!! You'll have hours of fun with your kids!

I bought this toy and its missing ten ramps. I have contacted the seller and manufacturer and can't get the pieces. Marble run doesn't work well without. Buy another set that comes with all the pieces.

I loved the wood set as we were looking for a marble run. I wanted something that would be sturdy and not just a piece of plastic. I also liked that this one seemed to be one that you could build any number of ways and didn't just have one set way to work. It does have multiple ways to be built but the instructions were too complicated for my 7 year old to do on his own. He needed a lot of help and when he tried to build it with his own design he would get very frustrated because it wouldn't work. Just a little too complicated for him with too many pieces that had to be just so. It is definitely well built and sturdy, it was just too hard and my son was never really able to get all that into it.

My grandchildren will play with this for hours. It's a little difficult for a 5 year old to do by himself but a good why to interact with him. Very well made.

THIS TOY IS AWESOME!!!! My 6 year old son and 7 year old daughter LOVE IT!!!!. Hours of quiet play. It comes with a book of a ton of configurations. I can't wait to buy more sets to accompany this one. Best money I've ever spent on a toy. It's also an heirloom quality and I could see this being handed down like my dad's 60+ year old Mailbag of Blocks. I'm over the moon about this purchase. It was expensive but worth every penny. Comes with a TON of marbles. The only thing I wish it had was something to catch the marbles at the end of the run so they don't spit out everywhere on the wood floor. I guess it makes the activity more aerobic. ;) HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We've all [grandparents to kids] been having fun playing with this. They weren't kidding with it's age recommendation.

We love the marble run, it was worth the money to get quality wood that we knew would last.This is a favorite with the kids. We used an old kid's table without the legs (and upside down) to build it in.. it's the perfect size and it has a lip around the edges to keep the marbles from rolling away. You could also use a box with the sides cut down to an inch

I bought this for my 7 year old grandson -- he loves marble tracks and this one looked more stable and intricate than the one's he already had. Assembly wasn't difficult for me, but would have challenged him. The biggest problem was that the marbles did not run through the finished product. They got hung up on various edges or fell off the track entirely. For the money, I and he were very disappointed.

I was so excited for this toy :) was hoping it was not as easy to destroy as a Thomas the train set ... Great toy ... Wouldn't buy till kids are at least 6 or 7 ... VERY fragile once together
