It works...
The cable's chip sets the max charge current at 60W. Given I mated the cable with a USB power delivery module such that I could power the combination from a Goal Zero power bank with max output of 60W I have no issue with the 60W limit. The MacBook Pro is happy to accept the lower charge rate.In short married to a USB power deliver module, this cable is able to adapt a USB power delivery power bank to charging a MacBook Pro. And for the money the cable has high value. That said initially I had intermittent behavior with respect to the magsafe connection to the laptop. I cleaned the older laptop's connector and I haven't had issues going forward. Though an OEM Apple magsafe connection had zero issues. I'll keep an eye on this, but it seems to be working fine with the cleaning.
