It'll operate out of the box using android, and it establishes itself as it's own server. But the program isn't all that advanced. Some crutial, time-saving things are not possible such as assigning a different travel speed than engraving speed. It will spend time traveling along it's path from and to both extremes at the same feed speed used for engraving. I think it will work with Light burn and other software though. The proprietary software is something you would have to purchase.

I’ve been very impressed with the ATOMSTACK A20 Pro V2. Assembly was straightforward, and it was up and running quickly with LightBurn. The 20W laser has plenty of power for engraving and cutting wood, and the engraving quality is sharp and detailed once dialed in. I primarily use it for woodworking projects, coasters, signs, and custom gifts, and it has handled everything well. The large work area is a huge plus, and the machine feels solid and well-built. After some testing and fine-tuning of speeds and power settings, the results have been consistent and professional. If you’re new to laser engraving, expect a learning curve with LightBurn and material settings, but there are plenty of resources available. Overall, this has been a great investment and has helped me expand my woodworking projects and custom product offerings. The laser system, on the whole, is about the best I've ever used. 20 and 40 W settings on the laser for engraving and cutting is superb. They system is so good, I bought this second one to increase throughput. Where the first one was excellent, the second arrived non-functional. I contacted customer service and Britney was very understanding in the contact email but not entirely helpful. After several days of back and forth which was exceedingly slow since customer service is in China and on the Asian time zones, customer service determined my purchase that arrived 5 days ago was still inside of the warranty time. After doing their troubleshooting for them, they determined that the z-axis limit switches were non-operational and are sending me the limit switches to replace myself. The limit switches are buried inside of the z-axis control module that holds the laser head. As far as I'm concerned, the only right fix for my out-of-the-box non-functioning laser system is a complete replacement of the z-axis controller or, better, the entire system with a prepaid RMA. It's not that I **can't** do it, it's that I **shouldn't** be their field-service technician. What *I* should have done is disassembled the whole system, reboxed it, and returned it to Amazon for a replacement. But I figured people were wrong about Atomstack customer service. Silly me. Update: They sent the replacement parts finally. It'll end up being over 2 weeks from delivery to a working machine. Not taking any more stars off because that would be punitive on a great engraver (when it's fully functioning). If the price wasn't so good for a powerful and accurate laser system, I'd consider an alternative. Update 2: The parts finally arrived. 2 weeks after receiving the laser I felt like I may have a functioning system. But silly me again. They promised to send instructions to replace the parts but they didn't. After another day of email round trip to China, customer service sent an "apology" full of excuses about their policies and so on, but they did include instruction videos..... for the A70, not the A40. They were close enough, though. The repair of the "brand new" z-axis controller took less than 30 minutes and a few more minutes to reattach to the gantry. As customer service said in their email, my new system is "like new". I smile since I didn't buy a like new system, but here we are. The z-axis now works flawlessly and I guess that's what counts. So absolutely 5 stars for the A40 Pro V2. A fabulous, top-tier budget-priced laser engraver and cutter. 1 star for their customer service and warranty repair. Moral to the story: If it doesn't work right out of the box, SEND IT BACK and get a replacement. Don't wait on Atomstack to make it good.

I absolutely love this machine! It's fairly easy to operate and maintain. Was not expecting it to be easy at all, and it barely took me one night to get a hang of it.

The quality of the machine and it's perormance are 5 STAR however not so much for their customer service, instructions and parts. I was missing 3 screws and it took almost a week for them to agree to send them to me. They say that they have 24/7 support however that is not true. All contact is via email and the quickest response is 1 day. Also the screws are shipped from China so that will take 2 weeks or more not very good if you need to have the machine. Still waiting for the screws but no problem, I purchased them at Lowes for $3. My advice is if parts are missing just return it to Amazon and request a replacement much quicker thanwaiting for suppor to reply and send the missing parts. If this is the first laser that you have assembled you my encounter some problems. They retooled some parts and did not include revised instructions. Also the parts bags were not properly labeled. That said the dual 24/40W laser is a nice feature. Cutting and engraving times are significantly reduced, some times I am able to cut production times by 30% or more. Othet good features are the auto-focus, cross-hair position indicator, fairly quiet operation, the Y axis cable cover and the included air compressor. It is a very good buy for novice users.

This laser engraver blew me away. Firstly it comes in packaged so well, with every part in a separate cutout in the foam, so you know it is safe during transport and all the parts are sturdy and high quality. It was a breeze to put together and running it is so simple. I watched a 10 minute YouTube video and then started testing it out with the AtomStack app on my phone and it was so easy and user friendly. Which the app is a huge bonus so that way I can engrave in my shed rather than in my house where my computer is. The ease of use and cut quality both amazed me. 10/10 recommend. Especially for this price, you can’t beat it!

I’m extremely disappointed with this laser. I bought the A20 PRO V2 as a replacement for my Atomstack 7X Pro, which had stopped working because the power button wouldn’t stay on. After ordering this one, I ended up fixing my old machine, so the new laser sat in the box for about a month and a half. When I finally set it up — which was quick and straightforward — I plugged it in and smoke immediately started coming out of the electronics box. The machine was brand new and never even got the chance to run once. I contacted both Amazon and Atomstack, and neither would replace the motherboard or the laser, even though the issue was clearly a manufacturing defect. Now I’m stuck with a broken laser and an air assist that I can’t use at all. At this point, I’m done with Atomstack and will be switching to a different brand. Very frustrating experience and a big waste of money

I purchased this Atomstack A40 Pro V2 because I already own a larger machine (X40 Pro Max), but I needed a smaller unit that could fit in a tighter space where the bigger frame wouldn’t work. This one has been a great addition. The size is perfect for limited workspace without sacrificing performance. It engraves very fast, and the results come out clean and precise. Setup was straightforward, and it’s been reliable for consistent use. I like having a second machine dedicated to smaller jobs or when I need to run multiple projects at once. If you’re looking for a compact laser engraver that still delivers strong performance, this is a solid option. Highly recommended for anyone needing a smaller, efficient machine without compromising quality.

Love this but i think i should have gone up to the next one to be able to use more materials and make it that bit faster.

Instruction for setup are not simple to follow. Need pictures for older people to understand. ex. a picture how to connect the data cable direct to computer not to go through a standard hub, must be a data hub, took me 3 days to find this ou. Very frastrating. John
