Two major problems
I wish I had seen all these negative reviews before purchasing. This Samsung refrig does seem to maintain temperatures reasonably, although we sometimes fine ice cream either mushy or too hard to serve. I see other owners' complaints that the ice maker, like mine, does NOT shut off, so ice cubes spill over. In trying to remove a full ice basket, most of the contents spills into the void. I try to hold a cookie sheet over the top to avoid hand-scooping all the cubes, but this is almost impossible. The second major problem = again, I see listed by other owners - is condensate that collects under the crisper drawers. It can be in excess of 1/4 inch deep, so I use a sponge to remove it, squeezing into a bowl. What a nuisance! And I must do both procedures (ice cubes, water) about once a month.

Terrible
Had the just a year or so and it is no good! Water leaks from it, handles fell off and freezer doesn’t shut it runs all the time.

Do not purchase
The reason I bought this fridge is because my very old one quit 3 1/2 years ago and in my small(ish) town it was the only one I could find that fit my space. I DO NOT LIKE IT AND WOULD NOT BUY iT AGAIN! The handle on the freezer is held on by 2 tiny little bitty Allan screws and is always falling off- feels like they are stripped. A plastic piece has broken off from under the door on the right hand side - not sure what it was for but appears it may have been a spacer of some sort. There is water leaking to the inside of the fridge and collecting in and under the crisper trays, I suppose I will have to call a service person to repair that!! The butter compartment only holds 3 sticks. The left hand door never shuts on it’S own it has to be pushed shut. If it is not shut it plays music for you-which can’t be turned off like on most other fridges. very annoying! A freezer drawer on a counter depth fridge is ridiculous- almost inaccessible unless the fridge doors are open. Overall worst fridge ever except it does keep the food cold and fit the spot in my home.

PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE
I’ve had a frig like this (possibly it’s predecessor) for 10+ years, and I liked it. But in year 11 the icemaker abruptly stopped producing, and I found that food was thawing in the freezer. A repairman determined what the problem was, but delivered the bad news that Samsung no longer makes the part or a replacement. I concluded that Samsung does not want their refrigerators repaired, they want them replaced.

Four Stars
very nice, a little loud at times but overall love it. Great buy for the price.

Five Stars
Great overall, but the ice maker overfills the bucket, dumping cubes out when you open the freezer.

buyer beware
Please research this model before you consider buying. You'll find MANY unhappy customers describing how water pools under and inside the vegetable bins. For us, the problem appeared when the unit was a year and half old (and the warranty is only 1 year). When we finally found an appliance repair company that services Samsung refrigerators—most don't—we had service done at a cost of $416. The repair person has come out 2 more times, but the problem keeps reappearing. We've contacted Samsung requesting assistance, but they wouldn't even honor our request that they provide information on how to repair the defect.

Do NOT buy Samsung junk, um appliances
If I can prevent 1 person the aggravation of dealing with this company I’ll be happy.Purchased new Samsung French Door refrigerator 10/20. Unable to remove bottom shelf to clean after item leaked (shelves are NOT leakproof). Discovered that the clips necessary to push in to release shelf are not there. Was this item defective or a return? Don’t know. Samsung c/s has been less than helpful. At first after an hour long conversation I was told that parts would be replaced at no charge. Explained in detail which parts & sent photos. Repairman came, looked & I was advised that it would cost $471.00parts/labor to repair. That’s 35% of the purchase price. After a 2nd 1 1/2 hour phone call I was told parts would be covered under warranty. Today Samsung called me. Apparently no one knows anything. They can’t seem to figure out what needs to be replaced. They can’t tell me if they will charge me.I am currently on the phone with Home Depot to have them pick up brand new, still in the box Samsung dishwasher, cooktop, double oven & range hood that were to be installed after renovation was completed. I will be throwing out the refrigerator as well. I’ll go with GE. I never needed to contact GE’s c/s as their products are built right.I should have learned after having the washing machine that was recalled because they were blowing their lids. Samsung ‘fixed’ that & the machine never worked again. Washer wouldn’t completely drain & spin. Just kept refilling. It would do that for hours if not interrupted. Ended up getting a Maytag. I kept the Samsung dryer but don’t expect it will last too long as it seems Samsung doesn’t build products to last.
