Decently made shower and commode chair
Using it with a female partial quad who weighs 135 lbs and is about 5'3".The chair is mostly aluminum construction, but is sturdy. The casters roll smoothly and easily on wood and tile floors. The seat and back have a little cushion, but are pretty firm. The surface is pebbled and not grippy. It is pretty easy to use with a Hoyer lift as the sling moves easily over the seat and back surfaces to get into position. The caster locks are easy to engage and disengage with the front of your foot. The casters (after a week of use) have decent grip on tile and wood floors. The one thing we do not like is that the arm rests are covered with material similar to the seat. It is a little slippery for the occupant to get a good grip on. We covered them with some thin grippy rubber sheets held on with rubber bands. It would be good if the manufacturer changed these to something a little soft and that is not slippery (i.e., easier for someone with weak grip strength to use). Both arm rests can swing up, which is good.So far we are pleased with the chair.

VERY poor quality
One of the foot rests broke after only one month of use, though I'm not heavy, was not putting full weight on it, nor was it in use every day. Seat "fill in"often falls through while I'm trying to take a shower. Description said that seat opening will face in different directions but that was not true. Cheaply made and awful quality for the price. Definitely do NOT recommend.

Very well made to be safe and for convenience.
This was an important purchase for me. I had purchased several different shower chairs before purchasing this one. The width is good. Many shower chairs are not wide enough to allow lower leg mobility. This is especially important for a female when reaching between the legs is important. The arms rise on both sides. So a person can feel safe and adjust themselves in the chair. The padding is great. The wheels are large making it much sturdier going in and out of the shower. The foot rests are a plus. All four wheels have a break. No sliding on wet or soapy floors. This chair has made giving my daughter a shower so much easier and more safe. However nothing is perfect. There is an insert in the seat of the chair, like a cutout, which turns the chair into a commode. The insert piece dislodges during the shower. Nothing terrible happens because the chair is made to be a commode, but it is a bit more uncomfortable to sit on. I would not return the chair for this small problem. I am happy that I can get my daughter in and out of the shower safely. This was a good purchase.

Beware for men
The hole in the seat is too big. My husband was hurt in a very bad way when I attempted to remove the bucket for showering. I had to cup him manually to remove it enough, that hurt, too. Although, this problem provided good bathing access, but we will never use this as a commode chair. I was also unamused that I had to lift it to get it over the roll over strip in his new accessible shower. Also, to answer the carpet question, it takes a good amount of work to roll it over carpet. And I wish the foot pads had a back lip or strap, so his feet would stay on easier.

Good chair
Good, sturdy chair. Easy assembly except for adjusting the height of the footrests. You need an allen wrench to do this which isn’t included with the chair. Rolls easily and wheels lock firmly. A little pricey.

Was easy to assemble
Was easy to assemble, works great, love the ease of mobility and use. Only complaint would be with the seat cover that hides the bucket underneath, if bucket lid isn't on, seat cover sinks into bucket.
