A new-ish spin on old tech
Imagine you own a factory in the 1950's and you want to make sure Mary Jane can't clock in her boyfriend Johnny when he's late again. So, you throw out the old mechanical time clock in favor of new computerized tech. Back when folks didn't work from home, nor did they live in modern day communism; there was need for such devices. You get an instruction manual, power cord, screws for mounting and a USB thumb drive for transferring data. I guess the boss can't hook it up to Wi-Fi. Your fingerprint serves as the biometrics. I guess tapping your phone to a sensor at the door is out of the question. The entire system feels like 15 year old tech and 60 year old thinking.

Functional..ish
You'd think in 2024 something like this should be flawless but it isn't. So the quality of it is pretty good from the touch part. Setting up the system was okay. I'm a techy guy so I don't mind. I can see how it can be tedious to anyone who's the owner and isn't techy. Setting up people is a pain as you have a T9 pad to setup their fingerprint and name. Recommend abbreviations to keep it short and sweet. I also recommend a pin number to everyone who's assigned just so the scanner doesn't work. You're trusting shotty computer system to scan your finger. It's like face ID. Not always working when you need it to. I mean if I were to compare this fingerprint scanner to a phone that has that, the phones were way better than this. The thumb drive they give is a nice touch as you do need to extract data from it. Sets up a table file and easy to gloss over. Overall, it's okay. I'd give this a 3.5/5 but going to round it up.

It took a bit of playing to get it figured out, but it works!
It took me a bit of time to get an understanding of how this time clock works, but I finally got there. The thing that is earning it a 5 star review is the speed and accuracy of the fingerprint reader. Additionally the price. I have demo'd digital timeclocks that cost 5-6x the price of this one that are not as good, so it is a winner. That said, you will find the interface a bit annoying. This one does not have wifi, so you are at the mercy of the annoying beeps as you click through the menus. You can download a config file, which is what I ultimately ended up doing. It is a solid device that can export a spreadsheet of employee hours, but is isn't perfect. It has a learning curve, but for the price I don't think you'll be able to find a better digital time clock. Mine has been in service for almost 2 months and it is now part of my office. It just works.

Pain in the neck to set up, but works okay, customer service is a joke. STAY AWAY
Way too complicated to setup and reports have to be downloaded to a memory stick, pretty much a pain in the neck. Then they say reply to their message “full return” for a refund. I do that and they continue to jerk me around. Stay away

Reliable and Affordable Time Clock for Small Businesses
I recently purchased the NGTeco Fingerprint Time Clock for my small business, and overall, it has been a great investment. It’s an affordable, standalone solution for tracking employee hours without needing WiFi or paying monthly fees, which was exactly what I was looking for. Setting up the time clock was pretty straightforward, and the instructions were clear for basic functions like registering fingerprints and logging employee hours. However, I did need to watch a YouTube tutorial to figure out how to access one of the features—it wasn’t as intuitive as I’d hoped. That being said, once I learned how to navigate the system, it worked smoothly. The fingerprint scanner is accurate and responsive, quickly recognizing employees and reducing clock-in issues. I also like that it supports shift schedules, making it easy to track different work periods without confusion. The no WiFi requirement is a huge plus since I don’t have to worry about network issues interfering with the system. For the price, this time clock is definitely worth it. It’s a simple, reliable, and cost-effective solution for small businesses that need a no-fuss way to track employee hours. While there is a bit of a learning curve with some features, it’s easy enough to manage once you get the hang of it. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, standalone time clock, this is a solid choice!
