Great game for Mistborn fans and non-fans alike
I will start out by saying that I am a Brando-Sando groupie. I have immersed myself in most all of his books and lore. I thought that this game was super well designed to be fun, strategic and sticks to the lore of Mistborn. I would say it similar to several other deckbuilder games I have played. Not a whole lot different the main mechanics. What it does do differently is require the burning or flaring of metals to play cards. This adds a very strategic component to the game. This game operates well multiplayer, coop or solo. The RNG plays a huge factor in the difficulty of each play mode. I have played multiplayer, coop and solo where I dominated and other times, I got demolished. The design of the game is great where it provides the right balance of challenge. Not too hard or easy. It all just depends on what cards you are able to build your deck with. This would be a great gift for anyone who enjoys Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn novels as well as someone who knows nothing about them. Your background knowledge of the novels has nothing to do with being able to play the game. It is just cohesive with the world and lore in the book if you have read it.

Fun and variable game with a good challenge
Really fun game! Have only played it with 2 people so far, but both versus and co-op gameplay modes are fun. The Lord Ruler is appropriately difficult to defeat, but doable. Excited to play this with a group of 3-4. Game takes longer than it says on the box, but once you learn it pace of play is good.

A great game for all you Metal-burning Mistborns out there!
I was nervous that this was going to be a mid-tier game with a Mistborn coat of paint on top of it. But I was happily surprised that it is actually a fun game! The cards themselves have some really cool artwork on them that can really bring the Mistborn books to life. The inclusion of Shan as a playable character was...interesting, and the color of her health dial and of Marsh's does not seem to fit. But other than that, the artwork is superb. The game is a bit complex and takes some time to learn and teach. This would not be a great game to learn if you haven't played a deck builder before. But once you understand the mechanics, it is fun to choose a strategy and try to defeat your friends. The metal-burning mechanic helps to limit the amount of actions you can do in a turn w/out making your cards feel useless, and at the end of my first game, all 3 players felt very close to a victory. I haven't played co-op mode or solo mode yet, but I am excited to try.Warning: The game mechanics and cards do spoil content from the first Mistborn books. Some card artwork and names spoil events or characters from Mistborn books 2 and 3; however, these are minor spoilers and someone who hasn't read the books would likely not realize the spoiler for what it was. Therefore, I only recommend this game to those who have read at least the first in the series.

Massive fan, but only moderate replay value
I am a huge Brandon Sanderson Fan, and was very excited for this game. And the game is very good. The quality of the product is top-notch and the artwork is beautiful. It has solo mode and the ability to pvp or pve. My only concern is, after playing a dozen times or so, there is a feeling of repetitiveness.

Very fun game! Especially, but not only, for Sanderson Fans
I've played this now 1:1 against my wife and in a 4 player match with my regular game night buddies. It's a highly strategic game that has a lot to keep track of but not so much that it's overwhelming. You really need to adapt your strategy to the character you have as well as the cards that end up in play from which you build your deck. Both times I've played competitively and I've had a lot of fun. The 2-player version is more fast paced while the 4-player version takes a bit more time. Finished in about an hour with my wife and about 2 hours with my buddies. The elements specific to the world of Mistborn are definitely fun if you're a fan of Brandon Sanderson's work like my wife and I. My friends haven't read any of his Mistborn books though and they still loved it. Got one of my friends interested in reading the series.Highly recommend the game, for sure give it a shot if you like deck building games like Dominion or if your a Mistborn fan (the metal relationships make more sense if you're familiar with that world).

Great game
I love deck builders, and this game is no exception. It's a hard game for people who don't play these kinds of games though.

Great deck building game and a must for Sanderson fans
Great game! Single player is fine, but having 2 or more is better in my opinion. The rules can be a little tricky at first, but it all flows well and makes a lot of sense. Great game if you like deck building games, and a MUST if you also are a Sanderson fan!

Multiple play modes, repayable and super fun!
It's a top-notch game, good quality and fun to play and replay and replay. Multiple play modes, including solo. Art is beautiful. I recommend getting tight fit plastic protector penny leaves to increase durability since you will likely be playing it more than you think.I has larger cards, you can get the 70x120 sleeves as well for added protection, though those will receive less wear and tear.Quality doesn't require the sleeves, but its worth having them. there are inexpensive ones right here.
