The best you'll find- and versatile too!
I work for a used book store as my day job, so I am no stranger to using mylar covers for protecting those nice volumes that you would like to keep in good condition. While I typically use the center-loading covers at work, I decided to try out the bottom-loading variety for personal use. After trying them both, I believe each style has its own advantages. The center-loading variety that I use (btw- not a Brodart product...) seems to be faster, while the bottom-loading variety is better at accommodating books that are a smaller format than the size listed. For instance, I used the 10" bottom-loading variety to cover a standard 9.5" publisher edition, a smaller format 8.5" publisher edition, as well as my 7.25" Modern Library editions from the 50's & 60's. Typically, a center-loading cover won't cut it for an old Modern Library volume and you'd have to get an 8" mylar cover to have it look nice. Therefore, I will continue to use the bottom-loading covers for personal use since they are more versatile. I can just restock on the 10" roll and know that it will cover any standard size book I need to protect. Also, these covers are as advertised when it comes to their transparency and quality. These covers provide optimum visibility of the jacket's text & color, as well as offer a durable mylar sleeve to prevent shelf wear. While the act of cutting each segment of sheeting adds some extra time to the process, the reduced waste more than makes up for the extra effort.

A must for protecting your book jackets
These book covers, protect your dust jackets tears or nicks. Plus, if you spill something it wipes right off. I must for anyone who collects books and wants to keep them in excellent condition.

Essential for book collectors and people that just love preserving dustjackets
I own a number of rare limited editions (more are arriving all the time). So much value is in a book's dustjacket that I tend to squirm when I hold a rare book fearing that I'll drop it, or a cat will jump on me and tear the dustjacket, or someone will spit/cough/barf/whatever on it, etc. Needless to say, first order of action when a new book arrives is COVER THAT DUSTJACKET. And that's where these rolls of dustjacket covers come into play. Just roll some out, cut to size, trim the paper backing, then fold the cover over the dustjacket and CHILL. I go through rolls of this stuff in no time (I cover mass market hardcover dustjackets as well. Call me crazy, it's okay). This is economical, easy to work with, and I have no fear of acids in the backing discoloring my valuable books. Highly recommended.

Good stuff!
This Brodart Just-a-Fold III Archival Book Jacket Cover material is great stuff. I must have covered at least twenty books with this roll. I definitely plan to get more rolls of this and continue coving my collection of old, new, collectable and rare books. They come out looking really great. This cover material should protect most book covers pretty well. The only drawback is that I am not the artsy crafts type and it was a bit of a choir getting them folded and cut and looking nice. Otherwise, this is a great product!

Easy, economic way to protect your dust jackets
This product is an excellent and economic way to protect the dust jackets of your treasured books. The instructions were very easy to follow and I was able to cover 10 books in less than an hour. I had several dust jackets that were already showing signs of wear and a few even had small to medium tears. It is amazing how much better even my worn and torn dust jackets look under a mylar cover, and now the jackets on my new books will remain fresh and crisp.

Love these!
I just finished my whole roll a few days ago. I like to buy vintage books with dust jackets and then protect them with plastic. I find this size perfect for any project Ive done. The 10" covers any of the larger hardcover "omnibus" type novels and the 20 yard length means you'll get up to 40 books covered with one roll. So about 50 cents a book. Not bad at all. I already have this in my cart to buy again. Highly recommended!
