Works as advertised
I have bought quite a few of these over the last year and have used them with upgraded PSU's in Dell T1700s, all have worked perfectly and I have had no complaints from the people I sold the Dell's on to. So highly recommended from me.

Let me replace a failing power supply in a Dell T20 PowerEdge with a conventional PSU
Wonderful piece of kit!The power supply in one of my Dell T20 PowerEdge servers was making a disgustingly loud noise and needed to be replaced so (rather stupidly!) I just bought a decent quality power suppy, went to install it and only then realised that the Dell motherboard doesn't accept a standard 24-pin ATX power supply but instead uses a weird 8-pin jobbie.D'oh!I thought I'd just wasted the money on the power supply and would have to instead buy a (possibly very expensive) Dell-brand power supply but while Googling, stumbled on this little adaptor on Amazon. It accepts the 24-pin male and has an 8-pin male at the other end to plug into the Dell motherboard.Hooray!Ordered it Tuesday around 5pm and it turned up today (Wednesday) around two in the afternoon and my Dell server now back to its church-mouse old self..Wonderful service and a great product.Mmm - probably ought to order another one in case my other server has the same problem some time.

So far, so good
Having a Dell T20 Edge means you are limited to the PSU you can use due to Dell's proprietary mother board connections. The main limitation of this is that you can only use a GPU that draws power from the motherboard. Using this cable and suddenly I've been opened up to to the world of PSUs and subsequently, GPUs. I've swapped out the 290 Watt PSU with a 550 unit that gives me the option of an additional cable for powering the GPU. Only been using the cable and new PSU for about 3 weeks but will update my review if it all goes bang!

Worked once then failed
Fitted to enable my Dell motherboard to use a standard 24 pin psu. Lead connected, power applied and seemed to be working fine. Sadly when I tried to boot the system again it would not power up. Original psu fitted and board worked fine. Second standard type psu fitted with the Lead and still no power. There is a small pcb fitted mid way along the cable which I assume contains components which may have failed. Shame because quality seemed to be very good.
