MP3 REVIEW 4: GREAT SIMPLE EASY TO USE MP3 PLAYER/AUDIO RECORDING DEVICE. OVERALL THIS IS AN EXCELLENT TYPE-C/USB MP3 PLAYER/AUDIO RECORDING DEVICE WITH BLUETOOTH CAPABILITIES. IT COMES WITH A BUILT IN CLIP, MAKING IT EASY TO ATTACH TO YOUR CLOTHES. IT IS RELATIVELY SMALL WITH A COMBINATION OF HARD AND SOFT BUTTONS MAKING IT PRETTY EASY TO NAVIGATE THROUGH IT'S LITTLE DISPLAY SCREEN. 1) BODY(PLASTIC): - 3.5MM A BUILT-IN HEADPHONE JACK, WHICH I PREFER BECAUSE IT MAKES THE BATTERY LAST LONGER. - 3 HARD BUTTONS: VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN, AND POWER BUTTON WHICH CAN ALSO BE USED TO TURN OFF/LOCK THE DISPLAY SCREEN. - BUILT IN TYPE-C CONNECTOR WITH A COVER THAT ATTACHES MAGNETICALLY AND SECURELY: COMES WITH A TYPE-C TO USB ADAPTER CABLE. YOU CAN CONNECT IT TO YOUR PHONE AS WELL AS TO YOUR WINDOWS COMPUTER TO TRANSFER MUSIC. (I HAVE A SAMSUNG S22 ULTRA) - AUDIO RECORD SWITCH ON THE SIDE - MAKES IT SUPER EASY TO START/STOP RECORDING AUDIO. 2) SOFT BUTTONS: - MENU - FAST FORWARD - REWIND - RED DOT - PLAY/SELECT/START/STOP - THE BUTTONS WORK WELL, BUT IF YOU HAVE LARGE FINGERS, YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF ACCIDENTALLY SELECTING THE WRONG BUTTON. 3) MUSIC PLAYER: - PRETTY STANDARD FOR MUSIC PLAYERS: I PERSONALLY USE THE FOLDERS APP TO ACCESS AND PLAY MY MUSIC. THIS MAKES IT EASY TO ORGANIZE YOUR MUSIC HOWEVER YOU WANT. (FILES AND FOLDERS MUST BE NAMED AND ORGANIZED PRIOR TO UPLOADING TO THE PLAYER, BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO EDIT FILE NAMES ON THE PLAYER ITSELF). - EQUALIZER - WORKS GOOD - LAST PLAYED - PLAYS YOUR LAST PLAYED SONG WHICH IS COOL FEATURE - BOOKMARK - CAN BOOKMARK A POINT IN A SONG AND EASILY GO BACK TO IT. - PLAYBACK MODES: PLAY IN ORDER, REPEAT ALL, SHUFFLE, REPEAT 1 VARIABLE PLAY SPEED - HAVE THE SONG PLAY SLOWER OR FASTER - A - B REPEAT: MODE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SELECT A START POINT(A) AND AN ENDPOINT(B) IN A SONG (SHORT PRESS THE FAST-FORWARD BUTTON TO SET A AND B) AND HAVE THAT SECTION OF THE SONG "REPLAY TIMES" UP TO 10 TIMES WITH AN "REPLAY INTERVAL" PAUSE TIME UP TO 10 SECONDS BETWEEN EACH REPLAY. - VOLUME LIMIT(IS LOCATED SETTINGS APP): YOU CAN SET A LIMIT TO THE VOLUME. - PLAYLIST: YOU CAN ADD SONGS TO A PLAYLIST. A) 3 PLAYLIST SLOTS B) PLAYLIST NAMES ARE: 'PLAYLIST 1', 'PLAYLIST 2', 'PLAYLIST 3' C) PLAYLIST NAMES CAN'T BE CHANGED - VOLUME: GETS PRETTY LOUD, WHICH IS GREAT. 4) AUDIO RECORDING: THE BUILT IN MIC ACTUALLY WORKS PRETTY GOOD WITH OPTIONS TO SAVE AUDIO AS MP3 OR WAV FORMAT AT DIFFERENT BIT RATES. START/STOPPING/SAVING AN AUDIO FILE CAN ALL BE EASILY DONE WITH THE HARD SWITCH ON THE SIDE OF THE DEVICE. I THINK THIS FEATURE IS GREAT IF YOU NEED A DEVICE TO QUICKLY RECORD AUDIO FOR MEETINGS OR CLASSES. 5) BLUETOOTH: PAIRS QUICKLY AND EASILY WITH MY HEADPHONES. RANGE IS PRETTY IMPRESSIVE: I STILL HAD SEAMLESS CONNECTION WITH THE MP3 PLAYER UPSTAIRS IN A BEDROOM AND ME BEING DOWNSTAIRS. IF I WENT INTO A ROOM DOWNSTAIRS AND CLOSED THE DOOR, IT STILL WORKED, BUT WOULD CUT IN AND OUT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, BUT THAT'S TO BE EXPECTED. 6) RADIO (NEEDS WIRED HEADPHONES TO WORK): WORKS PRETTY GOOD. EASY TO AUTO TUNE AND SET STATION PRESETS(30 AVAILABLE PRESET SLOTS). USE THE RED DOT SOFT BUTTON TO SCAN THROUGH YOUR PRESET STATIONS. USE THE FAST-FORWARD/REWIND SOFT BUTTONS TO MANUALLY SEARCH FOR A STATION. 7) PEDOMETER: ANOTHER GREAT FEATURE AND EASY TO USE. - STORED HISTORY DATA IS DISPLAYED IS AS FOLLOWS: DATE: YYYY-MM-DD START: 24HR TIME - HH:MM:SS END: 24HR TIME - HH:MM:SS STEP NUM: STEP COUNT DISTANCE: DISTANCE WALKED IN METERS - 7 SLOTS TO STORE STEP DATA: "HISTORY 1", "HISTORY 2", "HISTORY 3", . . ."HISTORY 7" THE NAMES OF EACH SLOT ARE UNCHANGEABLE. AND THE START AND END TIME FORMATS ARE UNCHANGEABLE(24HR) - NO WAY TO OVERWRITE A SPECIFIC HISTORY SLOT - THERE IS A 5 SECOND HISTORY DISPLAY TIMER. I HAVE FOUND THAT THE PLAYER WILL BACK ME OUT OF VIEWING A HISTORY SLOT BEFORE I AM DONE REVIEWING AND ANALYZING THE DATA/INFORMATION. NOT TOO BIG OF A DEAL, BUT CAN BE A LITTLE ANNOYING. *** UPDATE: They have a firmware update that resolves this issue. *** 8) 'POWER OFF' SETTINGS: - SLEEP TIMERS - AUTO TURNS OFF THE PLAYER AFTER A SET AMOUNT OF TIME WHETHER MUSIC IS PLAYING OR NOT. THE IDEA IS THAT YOU CAN HAVE MUSIC PLAYING TO HELP YOU SLEEP AND HAVE IT SHUT OFF AFTER A SET AMOUNT OF TIME. - SCHEDULE SHUTDOWN - AUTO TURNS OFF PLAYER WHEN NOT IN USE AFTER A SET TIME

1. Record button makes it easy to record and save recordings. Option to chose internal or external mic. Clear and loud. 2. Display is clear and compact, a bit bigger than a sansa clip. 3. Bluetooth works fine. Quite a good range. I can walk upstairs and all around the house and it stays connected. 4. Music files are easy to find. Tracks load in the correct order, which is not a given these days. 5. USBC connection, with adapter to USB included. 6. Charger and headphones included. 7. I did not use the pedometer. 8. 64 GB of memory is plenty, but there is no slot for micro sd card. 9. FM radio works fine, even without plugging in headphones for an antenna! It may not have best reception without it but I couldn’t tell.

I bought this mp3 player to use with my Soundcore Bluetooth earbuds while jogging. It does an amazing job and is super small (the same length as a stick of gum). I haven't tried the clip yet as the mp3 player stays in my zipped jacket pocket. It works perfectly with Bluetooth and with wired headphones. So far I've uploaded mp3 and FLAC format songs to it and been happy with each. The battery life has lasted 6 one hour exercise sessions and still says well over 50%, and it charges fast. The pedometer function is nice but I use my watch for that. I don't like radio so I won't be trying that function but playing uploaded songs in either music mode or folder mode work very well. And the best part is it sounds great! What I don't like but can live with: the touchscreen controls take a week or so to get comfortable with. It's just not an intuitive menu design. Also there's no physical song control buttons, just the small touch screen. And the screen is way too dim in the sunlight. Those complaints aside, I really do like this little mp3 player and it's been a huge help with my jogging!

Unless you record your voice while putting the recorder right next to your mouth, the recording playback is going to be pretty soft. Not really worth the money.
