Victron Energy BlueSolar MPPT Solar Charge Controller - Charge Controllers for Solar Panels - 100V, 30 amp, 12/24-Volt

I own several Victron products along with this charge controller. they all worked right out of the box, just like intended, blue tooth connection was quick and worked flawlessly. can't say enough about Victron products.. Yes they are expensive but worth every cent.

Great MPPT controller. I've used the not much cheaper Trace MPPT controllers in the past and this is much more flexible. The key with this charge controller is to ensure you are staying within both total voltage and current with how you wire in your panels. The trace I had was limited to 12/24 volt panel donfiguratiom. This controller from Victron allows for up to 100v open circuit from your array and up to 440w for a 12v battery bank and 880 for a 24v bank. I will eventually wire two strings of four 12v 100 watt panels. You can manually select the battery type which includes lifepo4 batteries!!! I'm using two starkpower 24v 50ah lifepo4 batteries and so for the Victron MPPT controller has worked perfect with it. If you prefer to customize and monitor the charge controller, Victron has a Bluetooth interface that allows for custom charge voltages as well as monitoring of the charge controller via a pc, Mac, iPhone, android app. If you prefer a more traditional panel, the Victron color control panel while expensive provides integration with this charge controller as well with many other Victron products; but would be less useful than the Bluetooth adapter as it does not allow you to configure the controllers settings. Overall, really happy with this controller and will eventually add a second one into my system. Out of the box, it is no frills but most are until you add in some sort of panel. The smartphone app in my opinion is better than any cheap panel with other charge controllers.

I like that the connection process is very simple, and the instructions for the device are very clear. BE AWARE that you MUST connect the Bluetooth dongle (sold separately) in order to use the VictronConnect app for your phone. You can connect solar panels in series, up to the max input voltage of 100V. Higher voltages produce more output Amps and Watts at the battery output. Series-wired panels will output the Amps of ONE panel at the SUM of their output voltage. You can connect sets of panels in parallel to get more output current (and Wattage) but in parallel, the Amps add up, so don't overdo it. Aim for about 20-25 Amps max, to avoid overloading the device. I'm running this with 3 pairs of 100W panels in parallel and it works perfectly. for charging 2 or more 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries.

Works great.. Easy to set up. I thought it had Bluetooth when I ordered it but it did not. Had to get a dongle for the Bluetooth.

The best small-system off-grid controller you can buy. And I've been through a LOT of them. I don't bother with the ones with Bluetooth built-in, because I only it just once, during setup, so having a single BT module for all my controllers works just fine.

The "BlueSolar" models ironically DO NOT have Bluetooth built in. It is only available if you add an optional dongle. The newer "SmartSolar" models are nearly identical, and the same price as I write this, but have Bluetooth built in. It's odd that they are even selling these older models.

This is such a vast upgrade over my Renogy PWM controller. Excellent fit and finish - quality hardware & screw lugs designed for 10 gauge wire (maybe #8). 5 year warranty. Clearly Victron and the Netherlands takes solar energy seriously. Additionally, this controller makes far better use of power than the Renogy PWM. See screenshot for sample midwest "summer" power harvest. I only have a 400W (theoretical), fixed position array. I run our TV, DVD player, kitchen lights, basement lights, sump pump, and electric yard tool charger. (using powerbright 3000W modified sinewave inverter) This purchase has me excited about expanding my array and system 2x or more... I do recommend the Victron VE. Direct Bluetooth Dongle for a more comprehensive graphical data readout to your Android or iphone. See sample smartphone screenshot of the VictronConnect app. Nice to see PV array voltage current & power - as well as battery voltage & current. Additionally - the app tracks a 30 day history for you. (see screenshot) I feel im just getting started with solar - but the controller quality and price point - give me hope for investing more in this quiet clean power source.

Does it have an led display? No Does it work a million times better than Renogy? Yes It's simple and it works. Rock solid. My only beef is get the SMARTSOLAR version with built in Bluetooth as paying $70 for the dongle for this one isn't what I'd call fun.

It works, as recommended by my son-in-law who knows this stuff. I installed 2 lithium storage batteries in our travel trailer, and wanted to upgrade the control system to meet their needs and capabilities. Not knowing what I would do, and knowing how I've screwed up technical stuff in the past, I reached out to my S-I-L to remedy any potential of my self-destruction. It's worked, everything worked, everything still works, ALL OF IT AS IT'S SUPPOSED TO and I didn't have to do it.
