I purchased the GOTAR Snap Cap for my 22LR CZ 457 Varmint to practice my dry firing. The product works great except for one (1) the snap caps had an issue. I contacted the Gortar Customer Service Team regarding my one (1) issue. Without hesitation or a lot of paperwork, Gortar resolved the snap cap issues under their warranty process.

At first glance they are awesome! Till you try dry firing them with usual .22 lever action. After couple of *shots* they start to bend at the rear that causes jamming in feeding tube. Seems like metal is too soft. It took me a while to get them out of the feeder, so it is impossible dry firing them without constant jamming.

I have not tried many 22lr options but this one is pretty good. I rotate the cap to prevent excess flattening on edges. The rim will break off eventually but I view these es expendable items. Great for testing and safety. No issues feeding.

At last. I've tried the other designs, more or less, with moderate success/satisfaction but these have the appropriate weight, coupled with a very effective shock absorbing system. I trust them to protect my Mark II Target in stoppage drills and teaching trigger techniques. I trust them in training and teaching double-tap drills with my LCR .22LR. I've also found them suitable for speedloading drills, an entertaining lark and competition with the grandkids. Oh, BTW the bumper pads are REPLACEABLE, & the initial order of a dozen "cartridges" has several replacements. Who could ask for more? DOUG out

EDIT 2025/08/05: After seeing my review, the seller Gordon reached out to me to see if I would test a new TPU material they're using on the base of their 22LR snap caps to see if it would resolve the problems. He sent me replacement bases free of charge. I tested the new snap cap bases, and I'm happy to report that they work GREAT! I tested the snap caps in the same 22LR RIA Feather rifle, and all 5 magazines manually fed and ejected the dummy rounds without issue! And none of the magazine followers got stuck like they did with the old gummy rubber either - everything was very smooth! I give 5 STARS for the current version of this product, and 5 STARS for the amazing service and customer care by GORTAR. Thanks, Gordon! ***************** I have the .223 and 12 gauge versions of these snap caps, and those are great. BUT these .22LR ones are really not that great. The problem is that the orange rubber cover on the base thickens the base just enough to cause ejection problems. The orange rubber cover also extends very slightly over the edge of the round's base, causing these rounds to stick in magazines and fail to feed. For these reasons they're useless for dry fire practice or running drills. They're ideal for practicing to clear jams though! For the record, these experiences were on A RIA TM-22 Feather rifle. All 5 mags and the firearm itself feed and cycle live Federal ammo, so it's the snap caps causing the problems.

Perfect for protecting your firing pin. Works great to cycle rounds through your firearms safely. Highly recommend them.

These work well for cycling the action of 22LR. One star off as the orange material is very soft and don’t feel will last long if dry firing. Otherwise excellent

I purchased the GORTARs Snap Caps recently, and although the package arrived with a damaged case, the customer service blew me away. After emailing them, they responded rapidly, promising a replacement. Not only did the new case arrive in perfect condition, but they generously included two extra plastic cases as a bonus. Needed one because I messed up the extractor and needed to troubleshoot it safely. It's very similar to the real round in overall size, and once the gun got working, it loaded, (dry)fired, and ejected buttery smooth. Even came with some replacement caps.
