It is a soundly built piece of equipment, the but is, not if you have a sot headboard, or a shaped one.And for a wooden headboards its only useable if you sleep with your bed six 6" (150mm) from the wall so you can fit it. So be aware of that potential issueI has to use a piece of wood on my soft headboard so it would actually clamp to it, and it took a little manipulating to get it to work, as soon as I put the tablet in the clamps. it just tipped and swung away. even fell off one. its not perfect. but, I have to say no I have got it on there it is doing what I need it to do. Down side the screw in bit is only a few inches above my head, it is the only way to do it without putting the bed in the middle of the room, so for me, no, not practical.So as soon as I am mobile again I will put a sturdy shelf up above the headboard, 3-4 brackets because of the weight, its not that heavy, but, when it extended with a tablet in it is heavier. so it might be heavy enough for just two brackets in the middle of a shelf? just my own opinion and just in caseI have been using this for over a week now, and spent a few hours reading or watching stuff on my tablet, and M am happy with it, I can lay comfortable with it right where I need it and hands free. and for me it is and will be worth that hassle.If you are like me and end up bed bund for extended periods of time, then this could be as useful to you too, just be aware of the issues I had fitting it.But if you can get it to work it IS a good buy, and you can be hands free while you use it too, for me that made the hassle worth the effort.

This is my second one and it has improved on the original design and works extremely well, but with a little support halfway across.

The pictures make you think it folds the over like an arch. It doesn't.

For the money, this is a great tablet holder. Simple to put together, versatile and pretty strong.
