Great quick read
I read this book after having read the first 3. It was a quick nice read to revisit the characters. It’s a nice bonus read,

Enjoyable, but not quite the same page turner as the rest of the series.
"They say rain on your wedding day is good luck. Death threats on your wedding day? Probably not so much." 👗I've just finished The Housemaid's Wedding by Freida McFadden, and I must say, it was a perfectly adequate little read. As someone who's already devoured the rest of the series, I found this short story provided a bit of connective tissue, filling in some of the gaps between the main books. It was nice to catch up with Millie and Enzo and see what they were up to in that interim period. However, and this is where the 'just okay' feeling creeps in, not a great deal actually happened. It felt more like a gentle pause in the overall narrative rather than a story with a significant arc of its own. There was a side plot introduced, which I thought had some potential, but it ultimately felt rather unresolved, leaving me a tad deflated. It was like being promised a little surprise, only for it not to fully materialise. I do think my experience might have been different had I read this novella nestled between books two and three. I can imagine it would have served as a welcome little bridge then, keeping the world and characters fresh in my mind. Reading it after the fact, it felt a touch less essential. The plot itself lacks the gripping twists and turns we've come to expect from Freida McFadden. It’s a pleasant enough diversion, but perhaps not one that will linger long in the memory. So, a solid three stars from me – enjoyable, but not quite the page-turner I was hoping for.

Scream!
It was never going to matter how this short story went as it's all about that brilliant character Millie and fans of The Housemaid series just want book after book of this excellent series regardless of how it goes.Another captivating cover this time the Housemaid with her veil on! Love it.So this is the 63 page book which slots between book 2 & 3. Author Freida McFadden listened to her fans of this series, and like me, we were all a little disappointed that book 3 jumped so far ahead in her life, so this is the book that is meant to fill in that gap. But it doesn't exactly, it's just about her wedding to Enzo and a little leading up to it, so a few weeks instead of all those years. Next book potential! The story isn't up to much but as I mention it'snot even an issue, as it's just about Millie, that's this series' strength, that character. So here in the 4th book we continue to see a snippet of the consequences of Millie's lifestyle on herself. It seriously reminded me of the movie Scream, that one and only tense scene of victim inside house....phone ringing....menace mysteriously sees victim wherever they are.....and it works so well alongside her humour which continues to shine throughout this book.We also get to hear from her parents and learn quite a lot about their relationship which I thought was a special touch to the book.Unfortunately for me there's Enzo too who I just don't like at all. Without spoiling, he ruined the book for me, it took a lot away from Millie with its most disappointing ending hence the 4 star rating otherwise I'd have given 5.Freida McFadden's writing as always is utterly superb and i believe she's at the top of her game with this book, it is so vivid and again, flows absolutely beautifully.I really hope Freida further continues this series, there's so much scope for past and present, her amazing character really needs to keep on going, not to be forgotten. It's such a rarity to have created someone so real who demands curiosity. My favourites in order of this series are 1, 2, 4 & 3

Great book another fantastic read from Freida.Only complaint was that it was far too short.

Story good but beginning doesn't join up with the ending
The beginning of the book describes a specific scene. Once the story starts you would expect the book to lead to what is described right at the start; however that does not happen. It's confusing and leaving me to wonder how it's supposed to link up.

An OK short story
Possible Spoilers.......This book basically focuses on the wedding and a death threat which Millie receives on her wedding day, doesn’t really come to much and doesn’t explain the family life portrayed in book 3 but gives a nice idea of a shotgun weddingI thought there would be a little more about their second child being born and they’re houseMove but it does help bridge the gap between book2 and 3

Great little story
This was only a very short book. But I still enjoyed it. Again, another little twist and it was lovely to see Enzo and Millie get their day, finally.
