I bought this after doing a lot of research as I quite like a cheese toasty with soup at times and having owned the electric Breville sandwich makers which are good but a pain to clean and the George Forman's that either the thermostat goes or the version with the removable plates the non stick starts peeling off at the edges so I decided to look for a manual one.I must say I am impressed with it, cooks toasties extremely well, unclip the handles and pack it away it takes virtually no storage space at all in my cupboards, works well on my ceramic hob and after using it a couple of times I realised that I can also use this for omelettes that I have never mastered being able to flip.All in this is a good buy, not cheap but you do get what you pay for and I just ordered a second one as a Christmas present for a relative that's just retired and bought a camper van.

This is such a brilliant intention. I chose the XL and am so pleased I did. Makes amazing and quick toasties, plain toast, for heating up crumpets, croissants etc etc. Great for frying fish fingers, veggie sausages amongst many things. It's a good size for two people and brilliant for one. You don't use oil in it also so it's really healthy. I've heated up things like tinned sweetcorn too and it did a brilliant job. I haven't washed it, only wiped the inside after every use as I didn't want to affect the non stick surface. I love this piece of kit, well worth every penny.

Love everything about the Ridge Monkey excellent at cooking just about anything and holds way more than you think plus it can split into two. Easy to use and clean, the tools are a great added bonus. Got this for a campervan holiday we tried it at home first and are so impressed. I’m really happy with it it’s the best piece of kit to take away on holiday and so compact too. My partner loves using it as well so we’ll be sharing the cooking now that makes it a winner. Why this isn’t more well known is beyond me!

This item came highly recommended from fellow camper van owners. It’s a great item to have and and I’m impressed with the number of different foods that can be cooked with it particularly toasted sandwiches on the hob! One tip - cook slow and steady on a low heat or the bread will burn. The handles come off which is good for space saving and I like the storage cover it comes with. The fact it comes apart to use it as two separate pans is very handy but the only down side is they come apart too easily as they just slide apart. So when opening the top one to check on the progress of the food, it often comes apart when you open it and it’s fiddly to put them back together again. Would’ve got 5 stars otherwise. I’d still recommend it but be careful when opening it.

We originally bought this for our camping trips. As we haven’t been away for some time I have used it several times at home. First off just by making toasties, which come out fantastically. I had some lamb steaks the other week and thought it might be worth giving them a try in the Ridge Monkey as it would save on electricity with the oven. I was pleasantly surprised how well they turned out, and will definitely use it for further steaks etc. also will try other foods. It is very easy to clean as the bottom and lid detach. A quick soak and wipe over with a cloth brings it back as new. One of the best things I have bought recently, very pleased with it.

Had to buy this because of all the hype. It’s like a cult must-have thing to have on all the VDub forums.And it really is the business. Compact, cleverly packed with its own utensils, and easy to assemble / put away.Most of all the it cooks all sorts of things beautifully and easily, and because for most things you use it “closed” it doesn’t cause a mess or smell up your van. The best bet is to cook on a really low heat - the ridges mean the heat is evenly spread and the oven effect ensures things cook in the middle.Genius, must-have piece of kit.

We're happy owners of a campervan and have found this ridgemonkey to be absolutely brilliant.Frying? Sausages or bacon? Chuck it in, shut the lid, turn it over from time to time, keep both sides hot, few minutes later done. Clean the stove after lolThese are great, I think we're considering a second one so we can have two on the go at once. Yes, it comes apart to make two pans but we love that you can shut it all in and just keep turning it over as it cooks. It's such an easy thing to use, and it keeps the heat inside better while it cooks.The non stick coating is top quality too which helps with its cooking action.Can't praise this enough really, very highly recommended for campers, caravanners, campervanners or just use it at home as it's superb.I hope this has been helpful :)
