Caustic
I was initially worried that because the ingredients were so natural and the solution had a fairly thin viscosity, it wouldn't clean very well. I was pleasantly surprised. As a person with many, many fur babies, I'm always cleaning and washing my hands. This cuts through all of the oils and bodily fluids I need and because it's natural, I feel safe cleaning around my babies. My husband also commented on how caustic it was, which means a lot coming from someone who works with machines, cars, and chemicals. While I'd prefer a thicker texture for my hand soap (it shoots from a regular soap dispenser), the benefits far outweigh this concern. I'll simply switch to a foaming soap dispenser instead. I got the lavender. The smell is fine. In my opinion, it just smells clean with hints lavender. Maybe I'm too accustomed to artificial fragrances. Regardless, I'm switching to this for my hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, and pet soap.

Love It
Where have you been all my life?? I'm kicking myself now because I have resisted buying this soap for years. Why? Because of the price. $58 for a gallon? All I could see is that a gallon of liquid soap at Sam's club was around $12? Yes, it's full of chemicals and bad stuff......but can I afford to pay 5x the price of regular soap for less chemicals in my life? Sure, Dr. Bonner's is probably more concentrated and will last longer, but 5x longer?Well, I finally did it and now I can't believe how ridiculous I've been. This stuff is AMAZING. And I'm sure a gallon is going to last forever. One thing I did was to get all foaming soap dispensers for every sink in the house. (They have nice quality glass ones now that look beautiful.) So now I just have to fill them about 1/6 of the way with soap and the rest of the way with water and have this amazing foam that works beautifully.I like a LOT of suds, whether I'm washing my hands or dishes or whatever. I don't feel like things are getting clean unless I see and feel and lot of suds!! This foams up so beautifully and even though it's mixed with so much water I've been amazed to find that as I rub my hands the foam continues to lather even more. The next thing I noticed was how hydrated my skin is now. I wash my hands probably 20x a day. Usually, this is the time of year my hands start getting dry & I've even had those horrible painful cracks around my fingernails. Before I had to use tons of lotion all day and if I didn't use it frequently & consistently, the splits would start. This soap leaves my skin so soft it feels like I used lotion. I was really surprised about that. I thought it would be a lot harsher for some reason.I've also made a body wash & face wash from this soap, which I'm working on tweaking just a little to make just right. Eventually, I will work on using it for dishes & other cleaners.I have found this soap is just a little nicer with a very small amount of oil added to it. I used it for a week or so without adding oil & it was still great.....just seems to be a small improvement for me with the oil. I've added fractionated coconut oil and almond oil, but I'll probably stick to a cheaper EVOO for the regular hand soap and save the more expensive oils for other stuff. So in my foaming dispensers I put 1/6 Dr. Bonner's, a tablespoon of oil and whatever essential oils I want & then fill with water. The result is not only a great soap, but it lasts for so long....used this for a week and the dispensers at my kitchen and bathroom sink have only gone down in level of about 1/2 inch. At this rate, a dispenser full could easy last longer than a month, maybe closer to two. At that rate, yes, this will last 5x longer than regular hand soap....maybe even longer!Of course, I don't have to tell people that you can add your essential oils to this. I have loved finding more ways to get more essential oils in & this is a very easy way.I'm sold for life!!

Love love love
I love this stuff. The smell is authentic and not a fake, overly flowery scent. I’m not the greenest person out there, but I also love that it’s easier on sewage systems too. I finally just decided to buy it by the gallon because I hate being g without it.

A WHOLESOME PRODUCT IN A TOXIC WORLD!
Dr. Bronner's is totally transparent about all of their ingredients, and they contain NO toxic chemicals - only botanical ingredients (ingredients derived from plants).Additionally, the soap lathers wonderfully, and can be made to last a long time if used in those dispensers that add air while pumping to froth the soap as it comes out of the dispenser. It can even be used as laundry detergent, but you will want to use it right out of the bottle for that purpose or you'll be pumping the soap dispenser for a while to get enough. Most (almost all) soaps, shampoos, detergents (and many other toiletry products, for that matter) on the market today have proprietary chemicals to create the "scents." These chemicals are NOT tested by FDA or FCC, and most of the time, their ingredients are not even disclosed to those agencies or consumers due to a loophole that allows companies to hide all of those ingredients behind one catch-all word in the ingredients list called "fragrance" or "scent."95% of chemicals used in fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum. They include benzene derivatives, aldehydes and many other known toxins and sensitizers (allergens) capable of causing cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions. (Neurotoxins: At Home and the Workplace, Report by the Committee on Science & Technology, U.S. House of Representatives, Sept. 16, 1986. (Report 99-827).If more people knew these facts, they would choose wholesome products like Dr. Bronner's (and there are a few other good ones as well). Thanks Dr Bronner's!
