Does two of the adapters fit side by side on MacBook pro?

Sadly not ( I have just tried) but on a 2021 M1 MBPro but then there’s also a third usb c port on the right hand side.

Will this allow me to charge up my new ipad pro 4th generation using traditional usb sockets

Yes, definitely...I use them on my iPad Pro.

Yes - the box in which it comes shows a CE marking

Will this work with iPad Air 5

I use this to connect my Samsung Galaxy A13 to an old printer, works really well. Not sure about iPad Air 5.
