Not for beginners. Lots of fine paper parts to cut out and glue
Just starting this kit. Instructions are very different from other kits like this. Hard to tell exactly where detail parts go. Contains a lot of printed parts on normal weight paper that need to be cut out with precision. So far it’s enjoyable but challenging

Fun to make, but not an easy one for beginners
I enjoyed making this kit but wasn’t really pleased with the overall outcome. A couple of the rooms are pretty much hidden and there is too much stuff stuck in the front. I know I didn’t have to add it all but I buy kits when my brain is too tired to think about being creative!Things to Know1. It is advertised as a 1:24 scale. I have done many kits in the 1:24 scale and this is a much smaller 1:36 or 1:48 scale. Which I don’t mind, but just be aware.2. Get a good sharp scoring knife! The wood pieces have to be cut out and they are very fragile. A sharp knife will be your best tool!3. Others complained that glue didn’t come with the kit. Most glue is combustible and cannot be shipped internationally. The glue that does come with kits isn’t very good. Get some Aileene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue and some E6000. I also find the glue dots handing for lighting.4. I also read some complaints that the lights didn’t work. There are a lot of them, but make sure you test each one before setting it in place. Mine all worked, thankfully! That’s my least favorite part!Instructions were pretty easy to follow until the assembly. It was a little hard to see the details and some parts just weren’t very clear. Had I not made a lot of these I might have been lost.If I had this kit to do over, I would definitely do a lot of customization. It would be a great haunted house!

Oooh this one has the dust cover and the music box, yay!
Kits like this usually come in one of two ways - either with tabs or without and you direct glue everything together. This type is 'direct-glue' AND tabs on some. I found the tabs rather large in comparison to the holes on this kit, so that can be tricky and I did break one tab already trying to get it to squeeze in to the other side. Just know this might be an issue. THIS kit came with a music box and dust cover also, which is such a bonus on these type of kits. Love it.The tools this kit comes with are: a razor knife, a small ruler, small scissors, a small screwdriver, pointed metal tweezers, and a nail file (called "grind knife" on the instructions) or "sander". There is no glue included in the kit I received. I have found it is helpful when you do these kits to have your own "miniature tool" kit just in case the kit you open does not come with everything you might need, and specialty tools do help with these types of kits. I also (besides the small tools) keep a set of thin-tip permanent markers of various colors to help with filling in areas where wood splintered or broke. It helps me, anyway.I have done so very many of these kits and I was struck immediately with this one that the parts are just labeled with individual numbers - NOT by sheet. So a sheet is not sheet A, the parts on it are just numbered as their consecutive numbers, and no numbers are the same (although loose parts will be labeled by what bag they're in and such on the instructions). Well, that is unusual but it doesn't seem to make anything much harder to find or anything. Just be aware. The type of wood used in the parts sheets for this kit is the thinner board, and will be more prone to splintering when you pop the parts out of the sheets. Just be aware and take more care in how you do that. It can also be touchy about putting these small, thin tabs into another side. Take care with it. There are stickers for books, but also a separate sheet of papers you have to cut out and glue. Some of the cutouts on the large sheet of paper can be right in the middle of it so they're difficult to get to, but just try to get there. Take care that you don't "lose" (cut out) other numbers of items accidentally. This kit is extremely intricate and is going to take longer than your more beginner kits to do. Every single little bit of this is created - so it can take awhile just to do one piece. That's kind of what I mean by "take longer". There are a LOT of little pieces and detail work to do. (See: when you open the kit just how many beads and such there are in it!) This kit is definitely a bit harder than beginner. I would call it an "easy expert" or "hard moderate" due to the amount of work you'll have to do on it. This is not a kit that takes just a few hours! Again, I highly recommend having your own kit with the items that came in this kit along with a few extras like: a paper squeegee with a felt side for getting bubbles out of larger glued paper pieces, a metal longer file for smoothing parts, a small saw (I've actually used that before lol), a small mallet with a metal and a rubber end, needle nose pliers, tiny clamps, and wire cutters. Specialty tweezers are very nice, too, I really like the type with the extremely pointed ends, personally. YOU DO NOT NEED those items, however. The kit came with the items you genuinely need - the other items I mentioned can be found on Amazon and are just *nice* to have for finishing touches if you want to do so. But they are not required. In the end, of course, you will have a beautiful little work of art that you put together yourself. These kinds of kits are relaxing and the detail work helps your mind focus on something other than your regular day-to-day stressors. Whether you're thinking of purchasing this for yourself, a family member, or a gift for others... it's a really good pick in my opinion, especially since it has both the music box AND the dust cover. That makes it well worth the price to me. Definitely recommend!

Fun but didn’t work
I really liked this set, it’s different than any of the other sets I’ve built, it was high quality and had some really cool pieces. Instructions were easy to follow, had all the pieces plus some to share and is a really good size. The biggest disappointment was when I finished, the lights did not work, I am not new to this and have built several sets so I know I wired everything correctly, but tried different things to get the lights to work and nothing. Really sad about this as I spent hours each day for the past 6 days building this.

One of my favorite
This has been one of my favorite miniature houses to put together. Some parts are made from thin wood and it would be useful to have a few extras. The use of beads and accessories make the entire thing come together really well. The final house looks fabulous.

What a project!
This is the most complex and difficult model I've done recently. Not only does it have hundreds of tiny pieces, but the wood is very thin for the most part and parts break easily. The first part of the instructions is fairly good, and this part took three days to complete. Now the assembly instructions. These are the poorest instructions I have seen. You have to go by the pictures, because there is no narrative except, "Stick the wood,...Stick it!" The wiring was also a small problem to get routed. All-in-all, this is a model for an experienced modeler. The build is somewhat ambiguous and comments about me buying it were, "Good Luck." Tread if you dare!

Gorgeous!
I love this gorgeous dollhouse. It took me about a week to get it the way I wanted but it was worth it. The pieces are well-made. Everything is excellent quality. It is one of the best dollhouse miniatures I've done. This is a great value for the money.
