800 845-3567 Overall the boxes are great. They appear to be high quality and should ...
I purchased one of these boxes for under both the passenger and drive side of my jeep. I did not receive matching keys for the lock boxes but I contacted Bestop and ordered a matching lock and key set to one of the locks that I had. The lock, including shipping cost $12 and I had it about five days after ordering it. If you want to order matching locks call Bestop at: 800 845-3567 Overall the boxes are great. They appear to be high quality and should keep most items fairly safe. Tools you will need: T-30 bit/driver if you need to remove the electrical box mount under your seat, which I did, 18mm socket/driver to unbolt the seat, 22mm wrench to change out the lock should you choose to do so, and a Philips screw driver. Installation was fairly easy. It was challenging to get the seat bolts out as I had a 6” socket wrench but with enough force they came out. The installation on the driver side went well. On the passenger side I needed to loosen the bolts for the back of the seat to get the lock box to slide into place. My only other insight into the product is that they do stick about 2” farther than I would like them to but in the end that results in more storage.

Great added security (especially for CCW)
These are great for adding a secure storage area to a Wrangler. Like many, I got this to secure my CCW firearm when going someplace that doesn't allow firearms (like the VA or USPS). This works great. Much safer than the console or glove box, and quick/easy to get to. The key is two sided, so there's no fumbling with "is the key going in the right way?" Install wasn't too bad (lots of thread-lock on long seat bolts, that's about the longest/hardest part of the install). One under-seat bracket to remove on my '16 JKU, but I just flattened a location tab and flipped the bracket over, moving the wire clips. I got the pair of these (L and R, for both front seats), and they were keyed differently. Wish they were keyed the same (the keys are number coded, so you might be able to order a matching cylinder from Bestop?), but I just took apart one of the lock cylinders and moved the "tumblers" (?) around, filed one a bit, and reassembled so they both use the same key now. Nice addition to my Jeep. UPDATE / TIP: (pre-install) If you remove the bottom cover (8 screws), there's a small metal tab tack-welded to the inside of the cover. It's the drawer stop. You can remove it (grind off the tacks) and move it 3" forward (or make a new stop / use a bolt) and re-attach it (I used steel pop rivets) and re-install the cover. It'll allow the drawer to open further, really improving access (see comparison pic). Just an FYI. NOTE: It didn't come with the foam insert. I bought the foam and cut it myself. More FYI.

Great lock box!
Installed on my 2016 JKU Hard Rock without any problems. Clean install. Clean look. Good quality and thick steel box. The instructions are simple and anyone can follow. I did have to relocate the two cables and connectors, but I didn't tie wrap them per the instructions. On the opposite side of the seat frame are some empty holes that are a perfect fit for both connector mounts. No need to adjust or modify any other cables. Pros: Instructions were simple and easy to follow. Box appears to be substantial quality. The build of the locking mechanism leads me to believe that it wouldn't be very easy for someone to pry open the box. Decent amount of storage space. Drawer comes with a cloth liner. Cons: I installed driver and passenger side boxes and I forgot to request that both boxes be keyed the same.

Solid box but not a very solid mount
I ordered one of these for each side of my jeep. Locking stuff up is limited with the top and doors off so I thought these would be a good choice. The box itself is very solid and the key is one that should be hard to pick. There is really no room or lip to pry against to get the drawer open so that is all good. It also mounts up pretty easily. Toughest part is breaking the seat bolts loose (breaker bar helps) and zip tying the seat wiring out of the way. The downside, in my mind, on these is the small weak screws that hold the box to the mount. The Box front bracket mounts under the front seat forward bolts/bracket. That is solid (although easily removed) but the real weak points seems to be the 3/8" long Philips head screws (not bolts!) that connect the box to the bracket. There are 3 of them on the front mount and no connection to the jeep in the rear of the box. I don't think it would take much effort to pry the box off the front bracket and be gone with it. Then they can take their time getting in. Best case, this keeps lazy thieves from working too hard... but a thief who seems a lock box assumes there is something worth locking up in there! It needs to be secure or what's the point? Hell, this is the reason most jeep guys leave the center console and glove box unlocked and empty so criminals don't break it to see what's inside. For any thieves out there reading this, I'm not putting anything really valuable in the boxes so don't bother.

This fit nicely in my 2015 JK 4 door Sahara Altitude
This fit nicely in my 2015 JK 4 door Sahara Altitude. You will have to remove a small metal plate that is attached under your seat which has a factory wire harness affixed to it. The plate is held on with a couple of small screws and the wire harness is attached with a plastic clip and has plenty of slack once removed. The storage box kit comes with wire ties so that you can reattach the wire harness to the seat frame. The bolts holding the seat down are tight and long, if you have air tools use them, but a little muscle and good socket set will work. The storage box mounting brackets go UNDER the seat tabs (You have to work the seat a little to get the tabs up enough to get the storage box brackets under the tabs). The box makes a good gun safe for your Jeep.

I expected this to be fairly lightweight but the unit is like a safe - very heavy duty metalwork, fits well, far better quality than I expected

Great product. Arrives on time. Easy to install, although I had to cut off a bracket holding some wiring. Directions said the bracket was screwed on, but it was riveted. Had to bend it back and forth until the metal fatigued. But live the security box. Be prepared for a little rattle when off road.
