Woodford17CP-10-MH Model 17 Wall Faucet, 10-Inch, CP Inlet, Metal Handle

I installed this to replace an old Mansfield frost free that had been leaking for some time. I have sold Woodford Commercial faucets in the past and had great feedback from customers. When I turned the water on for the first time this year the handle just spun. After removing the stem to investigate, I realized that the entire bottom assembly had broken off, (you can see in the picture that there is no assembly on the end of the stem). It appears to have broken off clean. There is no way to remove the assembly from the unit, without removing the entire faucet. I installed with a slight downpitch and also used a valve inside to shut the water off manually, as well as drained it before the winter. I am extremely disappointed in the product. The fact that it has past the return window means that I will have to pay for another replacement. Plus my time to replace the faucet again. I have tried to get information from the website, but even that is difficult to get to load. I think this time I will go with a Mansfield. I have personally had good luck with those, and will think twice before purchasing or recommending this product.

Worked perfectly, perfect match for the one I was replacing, it was a little longer but it still worked installing with little difficulty.

Here you see the paper thin washer pushed through the plastic holder. Now the water comes through that gap under the loose cap freely and under your foundation. Hundreds of replacement valves have been sold on Ebay. Imagine hundreds more that are allowed to go on leaking. I filled the plastic holder with silicon. No more leaks through the top

Had an outdoor faucet made by Woodford, installed by for $210.00, in less than a year it broke, and plumber charged me an additional $210.00 for replacing it saying I had broken it. They say I over torgued it. This is a seasonal cottage where the faucet got used rarely. I have manged to turn faucets on and off in other homes without wrecking them for a very long time. I say the product is a bad one if we can break it off in our hands with no awareness. I contacted Woodford and they said the same thing. Unless you can do the installation yourself, and do not mind re buying it, avoid this.Two weeks later, the second faucet we had installed at the same time is now leaking. In our city house we have very old outdoor faucets made by Mansfield that just plain work. No drips, leaks or breaking. And they have been abused by kids and teens, playing with hoses and washing cars.

I purchased this 10 inch wall faucet to replace the one my landscaper broke off. I need the knob and internal shut-off valve. as you can see from the picture, this is 12 inch NOT 10. Should this have been 10 inches, or do I need to order something else? This will be going back as it doesn't work for my needs.
