A very well written book. Better than W J Long and other writers. Important texts have been included. Glossary of important literary terms has been given in end. Tables as in “An Outline History of English Literature” (W H Hudson, Doaba Publications) should be given. Printing and paper quality is absurd that impacts negatively on reading.

The book's a most decent and appropriate buy for students of English literature in India, especially the ones preparing for the NET/SET. It's concise and reasonably detailed. IF you do not have enough time or energy for complicated histories, this one's your 'go to' book. Came in good condition, although the print's slightly shoddy..but that's the publishing house and not the author or seller's fault. Enrich your knowledge of the basics with this one!

Amazing book for Indian students who are studying English literature. As the book is very informative and takes us to a journey starting from old English to 20th century
