Parrot Behavior and Training DVD: An Introduction to Training, vol 1 - Barbara Heidenreich

This parrot training DVD is a great primer for positive reinforcement training. Heidenreich spells everything out and her training methods worked great for me. After watching the DVD, I was able to train my stubborn 16-year-old nanday conure to turn around and wave in just one training session for each trick. My cranky little bird now looks forward to training sessions, and spins on her perch and waves to beg instead of squawking!I got this DVD on sale from Amazon. I don't know that I would pay full price because much of the information in the DVD is available on YouTube videos and parrot forums, but nonetheless I recommend it based on the content.

I was hoping this would be the kind of video I could watch with my Congo African Grey so we would both know what was expected when I tried to get her to "step up". It really did not have much training information in it. Maybe it was just too basic for what I needed. My Avian veterinarian has attended sessions put on by this author and has been very impressed. The video was just not what I had expected or needed.

Basic instructions, but I am finding the DVD helpful in dealing wit my African grey

My veternarian recommended this author's books and training tools. Contained alot of good tips! I recommend this to any parrot owner.

Although I was looking for a book that started right when you meet your bird. The very first thing you would do. It is a good book.
