the smell is pretty mild. these things are spicy asf (but honestly it’s my fault for not reading the description carefully lol), and the texture is nice and chewy - without being too tough. that being said, if you’re not used to this type of flavor or texture, it might catch you off guard or not be your thing right away. personally though, i’ve tried another brand of latiao before, and this one is way better.

I went on a trip to China last year and one of the students I was teaching gave a spicy stick snack to me before I left. I was eating it on the way to the airport and it was so spicy and yummy!I've been looking all over amazon and I have to say, these really fit the bill (though they're a bit bigger than the ones I had).Hot hot hot hot. I think they suggest eating it while drinking, and it goes really well eating alongside other snacks like chips or nuts.Taken by itself, many people might need milkBut if you're looking for these, o man here they are.

Extreme spice. Perfect for all of my spice lovers. It’s similar to buldak ramen. I don’t like that everyone on here is leaving a bad rating about the taste and smell. If you ACTUALLY LIKE LATIAO, this is by far one of the best brands to get. So so so yummy

came fast, tastes different, like a doughy, very spicy, fruity flavor, would recommend for anyone interested

It was not very tasty, too oily and just tasted like chewy chili crisps
