Important tool, LEARN IT. Get One.
This simple to use, highly reliable, and extremely effective kitchen tool is one everyone needs to have in their arsonal. This brand (Annova Precision Nano) does not have the remote app or other whistles and bells but being simple and reliable it makes an excellent starter sous vide cooker. I have 2 of these and I, personlly, don't need more features but they exist so look LOL. This sous vide cooker was a gift I gave a friend to introduce him to the world of Sous Vide. I also gave him a bag of zip lock bags large enough to sous vide a roast in. He is thrilled with what amazing results gets with sous vide and he is very thankful for the knowledge and especially the wonderful food. YUM.

Great product with a great price!
So, we bought this one in 2019; and then a Greater Goods brand one a year later. We've used both of them maybe a few dozens times since? The Greater Goods brand was trash and broke down within 2 years, and arguably less usage than this one. However, the Anova still works great! We mostly use it for steaks. I don't really care about the Bluetooth feature, so I don't have much of an opinion on that aspect in general. I would recommend getting a sous vide container and a universal silicon lid to help with heat control. The temp has always been pretty accurate. And for the price, you really can't beat it! Bravo to Aveno. Shame on you Greater Goods, especially when you factor in that theirs is over a 100 bucks.

Good overall, but it locked up first time using it and temp got too high
(Edit: The complaint I had about the micro controller locking up (and locking to the last heater coil setting), hasn't happened again, and I've used it probably a couple dozen times since. So I've added back in more stars the rating.) Got this yesterday, and last night I picked up a tri point roast. Figured this would be a good cut of meat as a first test of this cooking method. The temp and time was easy enough to set, very intuitive touch interface. Put the roast in a bag with seasoning, and set time time for 5 hours, at 130 F. Checked on it periodically, and observed that it displayed the current temp, which floated between 129.9 and 131.1 (this is normal, the processor is constantly adjusting the heating coil power based on input temp). Well, later on I noticed the temp was right at 129.9 and never moved anymore. Went to check the timer on the unit, and the display didn't respond. The water was still circulating, however when I checked the water temp with a meat thermometer, it read just above 134 F. Unplugged and plugged back in the unit, and it confirmed water was now at 134. This was around the 5 hour mark, so I took it out, and sure enough the center of the meat was at 134, a bit higher than I wanted (was wanting to keep it at 130, slightly rarer, as the temp would come up a bit when flaming it on the grill to finish it off). So this loses points for the lockup and overheating issue. I'm assuming that the coil was last set to a temp a bit warmer than the desired water temp, because the uncooked meat is constantly absorbing heat from the water -- so to keep it at 130, i needs to initially have the coil set to something like 135 or 140. So it was probably about midway through the cooking cycle that the lockup happened, and when the meat temp finally equalized, the water came up to 134 and over-cooked the meat. The roast still came out OK, I just had to be a bit more careful when finishing it off on the grill. Still mostly pink in the middle, even cook, and really tender. I highly recommend this cooking method if you like your steaks to be close to restaurant quality. But I'm going to make sure I double-check the temp every half hour next time I use it.

Why did I wait so long??
I got my machine on Tuesday and cooked chicken breast on Wednesday. Not just any chicken breast - the most succulent, tender chicken breast I've ever cooked. In fact, I hate chicken breast because it comes out so dry. No more!!! Perfect for batch cooking, meal prep, etc. I don't have anything special to cook my food in - I just used a large pot. I do have a vacuum sealer, which I used for the first time :-). Operation is pretty intuitive, as evidenced by the fact I didn't read the directions at all :-). The water took about 17 minutes to heat up, then I set the timer for 2 hours. I got distracted and left it cooking closer to 3 hours, with no ill effect. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Solid Sous Vide Starter with a Few Quirks
I’ve been using the Anova Culinary Sous Vide Precision Cooker Nano 2.0 for a few months now, and overall, it’s a great value for the price. The build quality is impressive—feels sturdy and well-made, especially considering how compact it is. For anyone looking to dip their toes into sous vide cooking without breaking the bank, this is a solid entry point. Where this device really shines is in low-temp precision. It holds temperature within ±0.1°F, which is perfect for cooking steaks medium-rare or pork around the 140°F range. The results are consistently tender and juicy, and it’s easy to set up and use. That said, there are a few drawbacks. The app integration feels underdeveloped, and Bluetooth connectivity can be spotty at times. I’ve had trouble maintaining a stable connection, which makes remote monitoring a bit unreliable. Also, it struggles with higher-temp cooks—corn on the cob and egg bites didn’t turn out quite right, likely due to slower heat-up times and limited power. If your main goal is precision cooking at lower temps, this device delivers. Just don’t expect seamless tech features or high-temp versatility. Still, for the price, it’s hard to beat, and mine has been going strong for almost 7 years now.

Easy to use sou vide controller
I just used this for the first time and I was impressed with how easy it was to use. Just set your desired temperature and once it reaches that temperature, place your food in it and set the timer. I made salmon that was already defrosted. They come in individually sealed pouches so I didn’t need to place them into vacuum bags. 40 minutes later it was ready to eat. Next meal will be ribeyes. I’ll need to add a finishing step of searing. Can’t wait.

Great Bang for the Buck
We bought this sous vide as an economical way to try adding sous vide to our meal plans. It was a great price and functions as expected. You do have to pay for the app but it's optional. It was easy to clamp to our pot and get going. Instructions are easy to follow and clear to understand. It is a bit loud but I don't mind because it helps me to keep tabs on it. Can be used anywhere you have a large pot of water and an outlet. Took about 25 minutes to achieve temperature (165) in tap cold water and maintained or adjusted temp well. Hopefully it holds up as it worked well first time out the gate.
