Q: how would I use these with grommet drapes?

The most common way that batons are hooked to a grommet drapery is by sewing a ring to the lead edge (or behind the first pleat) for the baton to clip onto. I suggest using "pin-on" rings which allows you to "play" with the placement that works the best before stitching it permanently in place. There is no "norm" for placement as it depends on the drapery size, weight and angle of pull. I will be happy to include a pin-on ring with each baton purchased at no charge, simply message after purchase so I may attach the request to the order. Hope that helps. Tim C. Q: how does this attach to grommet curtains?

The baton has a small hook on the end. You would have to attach something to the top of the curtain for it to hook on to. Mine hooks into the curtain hook on the traverse rod.

Q: Does the rod bend when pulling heavier drapery panels? Or stay rigid?

it's pretty rigid. However, it can flex some.
