I couldn't put it down...
I got this book yesterday and could barely put it down and finished it last night... Wow. The love that God has for us in this retelling of creation awed me. The author has a way of writing about God's love in such a way, that I can feel His presence when I read... and apologise for not turning to Him.There were a couple of things that have particularly stood out in my mind... I thought the way of introducing the serpent to Adam before the Fall certainly reminded me of ways that I have turned away from God at times in my life - not due to sin, not due to anything actually happening e.g. just by worrying about what *could* happen - through just looking inward to myself and not looking outward to Him/Them, and not renewing my mind in who He is/They are. The second one is the mirror. I know what it feels like to look in a mirror such as Lilly does and see what she saw in my reflection. I now, however, see myself as God sees me, too. This book has challenged me intellectually, has got me speaking to God about creation in a whole new way, and also has shown me (on a level I had previously not experienced) how much I am LOVED by God. It also touched pieces of my heart and mind that have been bruised and broken and reminded me I have a Healer who will restore me if I return to Him.Were some parts a bit confusing? Yes... but I was reading it a bit quick!! But it will mean that when I go back... there will be delights that I will read that I missed this time... and I am looking forward to it!

The story is beautiful, deep
This book is profound, i am quiet a slow reader as i can forget about a book for some time before picking it back up again. I finished this book much quicker than i thought i would. It answers questions i never thought it would venture upon. The subject of doubt in regards to our faith in God and how it manifests and prolongs,is explained in a way that has changed everything for me. The story is beautiful , deep, thought provoking, and liberating. If you are thinking twice about getting this book, just do it, it's simply amazing. I never expected the story of creation to be told like this, in a way that made me feel like i was there physically. Mr WM.Paul Young has done it again, actually God/Adonai has done it again. It's only the knowledge of God that can render a man to write what is in this book.

Enjoyed Paul Young's style of writing and his exploration of ...
I was drawn in and caught up in the intrigue. Found it difficult to put down.Enjoyed Paul Young's style of writing and his exploration of the story of Adam & Eve.Having said that I am still not exactly sure of what was supposed to have happened.Be a good book for a reading group to discuss. And make full sense of.

A wonderfully crafted novel that makes you think about what you think you know!
Wm Paul Young is such a master wordsmith, I absolutely loved the story, I loved the imagery and the concepts he explores. I've read it through twice since I bought it around 6 weeks ago and I didn't want it to end. I will definitely read it again as there is so much to take in. I was afraid that it wouldn't live up to 'The Shack' it is different but the story is compelling and well worth the read. Great to have our historic assumptions challenged once in a while and to look again at stories which are so familiar to us that we've perhaps lost the depth of meaning. This novel gives us all hope.

Life changing & profound
Life changing. I finished it earlier today & still feel in a bit of a haze of mystery, revelation and heart transformation.... much of which I sense has happened but couldn’t tell you what exactly. Profoundly grateful to the author & the journey with God he must have had in order to write this book.

no where near as good as the shack
this was intriguing, but not really theologically sound,no where near as good as the shack.

Brilliant book - highly recommended.
This book is amazing. Wm. Paul Young is such a gifted writer. He writes in such a visual way you can fully immerse yourself in the story.I loved this book and I'm so looking forward to reading more from this author.Just like in his previous books (The Shack and Crossroads) he's not afraid to tackle some difficult issues but he does it so well. This one touches on human trafficking and abuse but it's so healing.

worth the read
I liked the re thinking of the “fall” Paul has done a lot of research on this as I heard him speak about it with great clarity. Made this story make more sense to me

Très beau roman
Histoire très intéressante, vraiment bien écrit. L’auteur amène à se poser des questions sur nos idées préconçues et surtout, la beauté des relations décrites donne envie d’avoir une intimité plus profonde avec Dieu!

Love edures everything
It's an a understanding between adonai and every human kind. That we should have a relationship with God face to face. And to adhere to God's law and abide to his will.

Great
I enjoyed Paul's take on the Creation story! Loved the imagery describing the kindness of Adonai and the beauty of His being and realms. An incredible reminder of our identity as His beloved, as well as the truth that all we need and desire can only be found in the place of face-to-face, beholding and receiving from the One who formed us, birthed us, breathed life into us, nutured us and Who will never stop loving us :)

Get ready for a wild ride!
I've been looking forward to reading this book ever since I saw the spectacular cover and realized who wrote it. When WM.Paul Young first released The Shack, my book club had the privilege of interviewing him via phone and it is still to this day one of the most interesting conversations with an author I have ever had. Talking to him gave me an insight into the story that I truly appreciated. The Shack, a spectacular piece of fiction, succeeded in entertaining me with vivid imagery and interesting plot twists, while evoking emotions that ranged from horror to gut-wrenching grief, to intrigue, to love. Like any piece of fiction I read, I did not view it as a debatable topic to agree or disagree with. After all, it is fiction. But it was fodder for phenomenal discussion and that is every author's dream.Eve, in turn, did not disappoint as a literary work of fiction. In truth, I'm not sure which genre I would use to categorize it except fiction. Paranormal? Biblical fiction? Science fiction? No one category seems to quite fit. The story begins with a tragic event in a world other than earth that leaves the reader intrigued but on edge with confusion. With the idea of Creation implanted in our minds by the cover and title itself, we come to the pages with preconceived ideas based on the truth presented in Genesis chapter 1. Like this author's previous works, those ideas are stretched, challenged and will definitely leave some with that uncomfortable, I'm not used to this kind of feeling. Here are some tag words from the plot of the book that might help you decide if you want to read it: Murder, Abuse, Collector, Finder, Witness, Adonai, Elohim, Ruach, Eve, Scholars, Eternal Man, Trafficking, Guardians, Shadow-sickness, Vault, ...If you are looking for a verse by verse account of Creation without a lot of room for hyper-imaginative filling in the blank, I do not recommend. Don't read it. You'll be angry and disappointed. If you are the kind of person who enjoys a piece of fiction as a roller coaster ride complete with thrills, drops, and just a tad of adrenaline-pulsing nausea, then dive right on in.I will say that like The Shack, Eve left me with a renewed feeling of intimacy for the God I know. There were many favorite passages, but one in particular deals with refinement through fire. If you choose to take the ride, I'll let you find it for yourself. One theme is emphasized throughout the book. God is personal and sees each and every one of us, just like He has from the beginning. In addition, after reading Eve, I re-read the first four chapters of Genesis again, just to renew my mind with Scripture. That, to me, is an additional plus. Just saying.
