Does what it says on the box

These straws look nice, especially in 'tropical' style cocktails and shakes like Pina Coladas. Being a natural product, they come in various diameters, so useful for different types of drinks and smoothies.Unfortunately, two of the 12 were split along their length, so suspect durability - not sure these would handle a dishwasher as the instructions suggest.It's only a couple of straws, but let's see how customer service deals with the issue - they have been informed.Assuming good customer service and non-broken replacements, I'll increase the score accordingly.

I used to get plastic straws to drink cordial and coffee, but kept trying to find a decent reusable straw material to use. I wasn't big on the metallic taste of metal ones or it hitting my teeth, and the silicone ones are too soft and also had a horrible taste.Imagine to my surprise that we found the bamboo ones! I bought these with low hopes, and to my surprise they're much better than the metal and silicone ones. They're nice and study, feel fine on the teeth, and have no aftertaste. They're dishwasher safe, too, which is a huge plus from me.Unfortunately, they're not particularly durable. I've had about 6 split in my coffee. They're fine in the dishwasher, but then when I put them in coffee sometimes, they crack. This is honestly the main downside of them, and it's a biggie. I can't use them once they break. I bought them about a month ago, so they've not lasted particularly long. I'd be happy to pay twice a year for them, but not once a month.Other minor downsides is no bendiness (but that's to be expected), and the randomness of the sizes. The thin ones really don't get much flow. They also fizz up tins of fizzy drinks (like irn bru), making it a little hard to drink. Not a big issue for me personally, as I don't have fizzy drinks often, but something to keep in mind.If they solved the durability issue, I'd be a complete convert.

I was given these for Christmas & i love them so much, i use them for nearly all my cold drinks, they have a nice room temp mouth-feel when you use them; unlike re-usable plastic or metal straws which are not pleasant. I love them so much i bought my best friend a box for their Birthday!They come in a nice drawstring bag, & also a smaller bag suitable for one straw; I keep this one in my handbag for when i am out and about. You just need to remember to ask places not to give you a plastic/paper straw, otherwise they will give you one & it defeats the point of bringing along your bamboo straw which is better for the environment.They come in a variety of thicknesses, the smaller thicknesses are good for water/squash/pop, the thicker ones are still suitable for those drinks also, but are better with smoothies/milkshakes.They come with a pipe cleaner to clean them with, but if i have only used them for water/squash/pop i find simply running hot water from the tap through them is sufficient, & they can air dry.I will use the same straw all day, & I keep expecting the bamboo to get soft or soggy, but it doesn't! We have even purchased bamboo toothbrushes now, it is such a great eco-friendly material.

I am very happy with these... a bit expensive but it's worthy and good to protect our planet from the plastics

I love these! I use straws quite a lot for cold drinks and meal supplement (ensure plus). I hate the coldness, hardness and texture of metal straws I’ve used in the past... even if they have a rubber bit at the top. These bamboo ones are fab! I am so glad I purchased them and cannot recommend them highly enough. They were so easy to clean, I either rinse them under tap or stick it in the dishwasher. Totally worth it.

The inside diameter varies quite a lot. So much so that my wife immediately repurposed a couple of the thinner ones as stakes for her plants as they wouldn’t have been any use as straws. I wouldn’t use these for a smoothie or anything thick like that, that might be more difficult to clean out. I bought stainless steel straws at the same time and they are much higher quality and will undoubtedly last much longer and be used far more. These are more suitable as a novelty for kids or a nice accessory for certain cocktails.
