Works Well
The RAC jump starter was delivered promptly, the morning after I ordered it. The unit had some charge but noting that the green ready light went red after releasing the press button (which is actually what it does every time, regardless of charge, this is apparently normal), I decided to charge it anyway and being in no hurry, put it on charge and left it to charge for 24 hours, which was the time it took for the red charging light to turn green.I then jump started my 3 litre car with no problem, even though the unit is designed for engines up to 1500cc.This unit is astonishingly small and light and I'll carry it as part of my emergency kit in the boot, as it needs very little space, for future use if needed.

Product name suggests more!
Bought this product from a choice of others on the basis of its "pedigree name".It has so far proved ineffective!Having failed to start a semi-flat battery on a 1400cc car,on a wet day I have decided to keep it charged in the hope that perhaps it will work next time-if only to start a smaller engine!!!.It simply is not woth the hassle-bearing in mind its weight-to return it to the seller. Some advice,if you are thinking of buying a jump starter then buy one with a minimum of a 12amp hour and,if possible, even higher

RAC Jump Starter
Bought for my elderly father, who uses his car infrequently. He's had reason to use it once so far, and it worked perfectly. So far, so good.

Not 'man enought'
I used it for the first time on arrival at Bristol Airport when I found I had a flat battery on my Honda Civic unfortunately the jump starter was not 'man enough' to start my car, I had to call in the Airport's battery man who started it first go.

Started my MX5
Bought this to jump start my Mazda MX5 and after connecting the terminals to the battery for 10 minutes the battery came back to life, would say though my car has a smaller battery so it might not jump start a Land Rover for say but for smaller cars up to 2 litres it should be just fine.I will say though the manual asks you to put the black lead to the negative terminal DON'T, connect it to a solid unpainted piece of metal (usually somewhere on the engine) not doing so could cause an explosion from what I've heard, red to red black to ground (metal).Anyways good piece of kit!
