Puritan's Pride Vitamin D3, 100 Count

I take large doses (and 10,000ui is a large dose) of vitamin D because I have Multiple Sclerosis. I have actively avoided the sun for 99% of my life and seeing as lack of D could be related, I now take this big dose to make sure the lack of D in my system doesn't continue as I still prefer to stay out of the sun. Puritan's Pride D3 are very easy to take in small gel pills and they are easy on the stomach. I will no doubt continue to take these, probably for the rest of my life. Please ensure you get enough Vitamin D from the sun. You do need minutes per day of sunlight on the arms and legs without any sunblock. No more. The Vitamin D Council website is a good place to start for information. Before taking large doses of D3 and for further information be awaare and research because they do say; --Very high levels of 25(OH)D (the chemical that can develop with large doses) can develop if you: 1. take more than 10,000 IU/day (but not equal to) everyday for 3 months or more. However, vitamin D toxicity is more likely to develop if you take 40,000 IU/day everyday for 3 months or more. 2. take more than 300,000 IU in a 24 hour period. If you have taken this much vitamin D, seek medical attention. Your health providers will get your calcium and 25(OH)D levels tested.

Bottle appeared half full, and the plastic vacuum seal was small and only covered half the lid. I pulled the lid off easily without disturbing the plastic, and under the cap there is a pull tab seal that was very firmly glued on. I was still suspicious so I counted all the capsules, I counted 99. I never was very good at counting. Anyway, all capsules were uniform and appeared to be normal size and quality for D gel capsules. So I took one 30 minutes ago and I feel fine. I'm supposed to take 50,000 iu per week of a slow release gel capsule, but my Dr went on vacay for a whole MONTH in Dec and left me hanging without renewing my script. So this will stand in 4 days a week (I know that's only 40,000 iu but I'm being cautious). I will upgrade this to 5 stars if I feel noticeably better in a week. I have pretty severe iron and D deficiency and it's obvious when I skip vitamins. Great price on this, will be a good backup if it functions as well as my prescription D. Update: works just as well as prescription, I can tel when I miss a dose.

These are pretty strong vitamin D pills. I started taking this after my doctor suggested my vitamin D level was really low. The first thing I will say is that these pills are relatively small but give you a ton of vitamin D in just a single pill. I just take one every day to get my vitamin D level up and then just one every other day. It is suggested you take one a day if needed but this really is a large amount of vitamin D but nothing out of the normal range. It is fairly easy to swallow and does not need much water but I still down a glass of water every time I take this. The pills do feel a little moist but at least they do not stick to each other. In term of effects, it took about a month before I really started to notice the effect. It really gave me a good amount of energy and also improved my mood throughout the day. I did not feel as down and drained. I would definitely recommend this if your mood has not been feeling very positive as vitamin D does effect your mood. It is just a pill a day. It is recommend you have a meal with it to make it easier to process but not required. It takes time for this to really effect you if you are low on vitamin D. It is inexpensive but I definitely recommend these to get your vitamin D level to good levels.

I’m not just deficient, I’m severely deficient in vitamin D levels and am usually on prescription vitamin D but could not stand the horse tablets so I went searching for other options. These are great. Definitely works, according to blood tests. There’s also hard proof my levels tank when I stop taking them. The capsules are tiny and so easy to swallow. There is a weird smell to them but I can’t taste anything because they go down easy. To be honest, initially it was also the price that drew me in. It was a good value at the time but the price can fluctuate by up to $3 at times. That’s my biggest con on these because I have these on subscribe and save and never know how much it’ll cost when it automatically recorders.

I usually buy products with the GMP stamp but had used this brand once or twice for other things and it seemed to work. I started feeling like I had more Vit D (feeling better), which my doctor confirmed by telling me that my levels were up and to keep doing what I was doing. The price, given the high IU content on this was good. If you deal with chronic illness or autoimmunity that leave you wanting for far higher IUs than existing recommendations, this is one of the more cost effective options out there.

I think that this is a great price compared to other brands and it has a good quantity in each bottle so that it will not run out too quickly. I have seen an increase in my Vitamin D count in my blood work since starting to take these and they are small and easy to swallow which is great. I will be buying these again as long as I need to continue to supplement my Vitamin D levels for my health. No issues at all with these supplements.

Good price and I love the small size of the capsule. Vitamin D is important, especially in cold and cloudy climates, and these are perfect.

Been delivered today, 2 bottles have the capsules melted inside the bottle, so disappointed waste of money
