This brand never disappoints. Great quality, reliable, every time. I didn’t use the spore booster, never really needed to. I just poured some colonized grain into this bag this past week and already I have about 40% colonization. I’ve never had a contamination issue with this product, and I trust them implicitly. Price wise, they’re a little higher than some, but absolutely worth it for the piece of mind.

Says "all-in-one" grow bag (grain spawn + substrate) but when I inoculated the bag it never colonized. I even attempted multiple innoculations with no success. I finally gave up, opened the bag, and put the material in a monotub. It finally colonized after a 3rd innoculation but then got contaminated and had to toss out.

Great results as long as you follow the very helpful and comprehensive instructions. You will need to get your own spores for whatever type of mushrooms you wish to grow, be it Morels, Truffles, (good luck finding those spores!), or one of the many "Magical" varieties. Great size for the beginner, (that would be me). I had great success first time I tried growing my own and I am not a master gardener by any definition of the word.

This is a solid product overall. Unfortunately, 2 of the 4 bags I received ended up contaminated. That said, North Spore was quick to offer replacements, and their customer service alone is the reason I’m still giving this a strong review. I do larger bulk grows, and compared to traditional all-in-one bags, this design is actually much better. These bags colonize cleaner and faster in my experience, and the format makes them easier to work with than many standard AIO bags. The batch I received did seem a bit wet, which may have been due to shipping is such cold weather when they were received, which likely contributed to the contamination in two bags. I verified my liquid culture on agar beforehand, so I’m confident the issue was with the grain rather than my inoculant. That said, contamination can happen with any grow product, and it’s part of the learning process when trying new tek. Overall, I’m impressed with the design and performance of the bags that worked. North Spore is also sending two replacements, which shows they stand behind their products. I’m happy to give them another shot.

Purchased three of these and three from Booming Acres to test drive. All North Spore bags completed their flushes and are retired while only one Booming Acres bag produced fruit and is just now ready for its first flush. Exact same source material and environment for both brands with vastly different results. Hence, I'm now a repeat North Spore customer.
