Gootium Canvas Messenger Bag - Vintage Cross Body Shoulder Satchel

This is a HEAVY duty canvas bag with large capacity. The stated weight is 2.1 pounds which needs consideration when traveling internationally or walking long distances. Only if the bag is fully packed is the weight/item small. For laptops and related items or for casual travel this is not a reasonable choice from the plethora of options on Amazon. Modern materials can provide the same wearability and capacity and are more compact. One does not fully consider this until it is put to use when traversing airports, stuffing it in overhead bins in long-haul aircraft or traveling to meetings getting in and out of public transport.

This canvas and brass bag has high quality construction and heavy duty material. It holds a really surprising volume of stuff in numerous pockets and flaps, some zippered some worth Velcro colsures an best of all there are no straps with buckles or strings to fight or get hung up on things. The color is unobtrusive and neutral. It's appearance will only improve with wear and age. It is comfortable to wear leaving both hands free. It might be nice if one of the side pockets could accomadte a small beverage botlle?

I'm a stickler when it comes to messenger bags since I'm always on the look for that perfect one to turn into a stealthy camera bag. The color is a bit more green than I liked, so I just bleached the hell out of it and gave it a more distressed look. The bleach did not work on the strap so I was left with a two colored bag. I didn't care. I tried to trash it. I stepped on it. Dragged it on the concrete. Ran it through the dryer a few times. Then repeated this process to stress it out and annoyingly (for me), it stayed in pretty damn good shape. Took it on a 4 month trip and it didn't really change all that much. Surprisingly a lot more than on the inside than it looks, which was great for putting more things in, but of course it then became bloated looking. Inner pocket was nice. The side pockets were pretty useless since they were too small for me to put much more than a small battery or a short pen.

Absolutely great bag! I highly recommend and I am so happy with it. All of the route positive reviews are dead on. It is very sturdy, lots of room but not too big, and large pockets as well as small pockets. I am a big and tall woman and I have been searching all over for a messenger type bag that could fit around me as well as my height. I also hate bags that fall off of your shoulder easily, especially when you're trying to carry groceries into your house and things like that. The fabric that the shoulder strap is made of makes it so the strap doesn't slip at all. This bag is just perfect and it has that military look that I like very much. Some of the other bags were in the $20 range, but I figured it was worth the extra cash to have something sturdy. Pictures of the other canvas messenger bags showed signs of falling apart very early, stitching coming loose, etc. I do not foresee that happening with this bag. Well that's my two cents 🤑😘

This bag is perfect to carry to and from work with electronics, office supplies, etc... It is a little floppy and doesn't hold its shape well without things in it, but that doesn't bother me. I expected this because it is a canvas bag. It is plenty large enough for a 15.6 laptop. I am 6'1" tall and the strap is plenty long enough for the bag to hang below my waist when wearing as a messenger bag.There is no padding in the compartments but as long as you aren't just throwing the bag around your stuff should be fine. It is plenty large enough for a student to carry a laptop and a couple of books with supplies. It even has a zipper pocket next to your body for your phone.The only complaint I would have about this bag is that the end pockets aren't really large enough for a bottle of water, but they work perfect for a deck of cards. Though if they were any larger, they would be bulky.

Ordered this bag to replace my husband’s old bag because the zipper was coming loose. He commented on how much nicer this bag was than his old one. It has a rugged look, yet the material and zipper appear very heavy and strong. It has tons of pockets. The army green more of is a greenish/brown color. Great quality bag.

Lists Army green. It’s more of a dark khaki color to me not Army green. Nice hefty weight but not heavy. Excellent quality. Canvas and stitching is first rate and looks and feels like it will last for many years to come. Alot of pockets inside and plenty room for other items. Interior zipper for main compartment and Velcro flap. Nice wide sturdy shoulder strap. Very nice! I’m happy with this product.

I really liked the style and look of this bag. It has lots of pockets and the main compartment closes with a zipper. All of the zippers are well-made and the bag itself is very well-made of cotton canvas. The side pockets are very small-a water bottle will not fit-so I used it to carry small reading glasses. I didn’t like the weight of the bag. It is 2.1 pounds when empty and was just too heavy for me once I put all of my stuff in it. I gave the bag to my daughter so she can use it for her knitting materials.I recommend the bag with a warning to potential buyers about its weight.
