Absolutely the greatest thing ever !!! Kids went crazy over it... I just got it and ran it twice in a row. Love it..

Don't let the loss of 1 star fool you, this is a strong recommendation from me, since we bought it, it's spiced up a few parties. It's been used by the kids a few times to make soft drink slushies, it's primarily been used to create frozen cocktails. It's excellent!The only two issues I've had, and both are probably the same issue, are that.- The "freezing" appears to come from the central metal barrel, meaning you really need a decent quantity of liquid in it, in order to get the best use of the machine. This makes the option of individual cocktails not possible. Not a deal breaker, but it would be a nice option- I've found that high-alcohol drinks, like hurricanes, don't fully freeze. They get a light "slushyness" which is great, but I'd prefer more freezing. I feel like the barrel not being entirely submerged in the drink might have caused this.All in all, it's a great machine though, just served frozen mimosas Sunday morning to great exclaim of our visitors.

As a kid I used to ride down to the local 7-11 with neighborhood friends to play video games and get ICEEs, and honestly I never grew out of my love for slushies and ICEEs and will still get one every time I go to the movies or when it is a hot summer day. Over the years I tried a variety of at home slushie machines, which relied on a variety of methods from shaving ice to frozen containers, and even salt to create the cold drink. In the end however, none of them truly gave me anything close to what the commercial machines provided, until I discovered this machine, and I couldn't be happier.Pros:+ It is both extremely easy to use, and very fast, consistently delivering a perfect slushie in about 20 minutes.+ It isn't very loud at all.+ It doesn't take much to start cluttering up your kitchen counter, so I really appreciate how narrow this thing is and pretty much just leave it out.+ The pre-programmed settings are nice, though honestly every time I've used it I've selected a custom time/temp, and the menu is intuitive and easy to operate.+ I was concerned about cleanup, but it is actually quite easy, and the machine itself has a very "neat" operation; there's generally no spillage, or sticky liquid all over. The functional parts come off with ease, and while you can put them in the dishwasher on the top rack, I have been washing them off by hand, drying, and putting it right back together with each use.+ Plastic parts seem about as durable as any other kitchen appliance I have, like the container on my blender, etc.Cons:- Expensive. There's no way around it, this machine isn't cheap, and as it is a niche item, you've really got to justify its purchase. I put it up there with having a countertop pizza oven.Something to consider:My fear with expensive specialty items like this is product support. If one of my kids accidentally breaks the mixing container, how likely is it that I'll be able to replace that?Overall, despite my fear over replacement parts should something fail, I'm very happy with this slushie machine. I've used it to make slushies with mixtures we've concocted at home, as well as soda, and the legitimate slushie mixtures you can get here on Amazon, all with great success. I love the results I get, and I've found them to be extremely consistent from one use to the next. I'm also a big fan of the fact that it doesn't take up much countertop space, so I can just leave it out, reminding me to use it. My only real issue is the cost, but given what is necessary for an appliance like this, and where it falls with the competition, I feel it is warranted.

This is a great slushy machine for those of us that like the occasional slushy and the occasional party where people drink a lot of slushys. By all that, I mean to say this isn't a pro level machine that's going to grind out oodles of slushies month after month. Those machines have a lot more steel. It's a good machine for me though. I think it has made 100 slushys so far, maybe more. No problems and still working like new.The hard part of having this machine is the recipes. It turns all sorts of stuff into slushys. That's a good reason for a party - figuring out some good adult beverage recipes.

We finally caved and got this machine for our family - best decision ever! Just pour in whatever drink you want and 20 or more minutes later you've got perfect slushies. Super simple to use with the preset buttons, and the dispenser is so easy anyone can accomplish smooth tasty Slushies in minutes.Only downside is you do have to be patient for that initial freeze time. But honestly, for having restaurant-quality slushies whenever we want, it's totally worth it. The machine isn't huge either - fits right on our counter next to our tea station. Now our house has my childhood favorite, an Icee Machine.Being the curious type i had to fiddle with the settings so i ended up making first batch extremely thick which couldnt all be dispensed. What we did was add more liquid which loosened the stuck slush up quickly. Then we just waiited for a second batch. Essentially you could make consecutive batches one after another.We are planning on purchasing another after more use for our RV travels. Oh our house cleaner loved this even though it added a little work for them. It is deceivingly heavy to move around.Im giving it a 4 rating until we get more usage then i may change to a 5.
