Great Product!
We purchased the Natural Teak colour. The product is very easy to apply (started with a cloth then resorted to usung a brush and a cloth to wipe excess). Depending on the design and size of your furniture it can be time consuming. We had a large garden table with 2 single seaters and 2 double seater chairs. It took us roughly 3 days (3hour sessions) to get two coats on. You will have to get rid of any existing coating on your furniture as this product will not penetrate the wood and render it useless also the new colour will not show. In direct sunlight there is a light sheen but it is a beautiful dark colour otherwise. We had rain a few days and there was evident water beading. 2 1 litre tins of this product was adequate to get two coats on the seating and 3 coats on the table. Make sure you pour a little each time as the product can harden and gets harder to brush on.

Excellent protection
Used this on a beautiful wooden garden seat that hasn’t been treated for a few years. I first cleaned it with a specialist cleaner and used a fine grade of sandpaper to smooth the surface. Next, I removed remaining dirt and dust with white spirit. Finally I was ready to use this oil.I used a clean soft cloth and rubbed the oil in. You have to be careful not to get it on you or your clothes as it can leave an orange seal on you. Also, be careful not to use too much as you will end up with uneven colourstion (it’s not clear as I’d expected). You can sand off any accidental blobs though. It dries fairly quickly but I still left a day between coats. I used three coats as it hasn’t been done for so long but it was clearly pretty hydrophobic after just one use.Although not clear, the end result is natural (as described) and the seat is well protected against the elements once more.

Labour intensive but the results are worth it!
My wife found a teak outdoor table and chairs for £50 that had been neglected at the end of a garden for years. Everything was a mottled grey colour and covered in light green algae, and I was dreading the challenge of bringing it back to life. A pressure wash took care of the algae, but the wood itself was so dry it was a silvery light grey.Having read some reviews, I decided to try the Ronseal hardwood garden furniture oil. It isn't like teak oil (or any furniture oil I have used before, for that matter). It's more like a tinted resin that soaks into the wood before it hardens. I wore dishwashing gloves and used a small rag (a quarter of a microfibre cloth) to rub it into the wood, as per the instructions.Be forewarned that the application process is pretty slow going. You put a little oil on the rag, rub it in and repeat. On the first coat, I could only manage to cover a couple of square inches each time I loaded the rag, and with all those slats and angles, it took about 90 minutes to complete each chair. And it looked awful -- brownish, yes sort of, but with plenty of mottled light grey showing through. The second coat went on faster, maybe 45 minutes per chair and definitely improved the appearance. There were still some light areas, but the wood was starting to take on a deep chocolate brown colour that gave me enough hope to keep going. The third coat was a breeze, maybe 30 minutes per chair, and the final result was amazing -- deep warm browns that brought out the beauty of the wood and made the furniture look brand new.All in, I think I spent about 25 hours restoring this table and six chairs. And I did it all with 1 litre of Ronseal and about a quarter of a second litre. But it looks amazing. Bought new it would be £1200-1500, and I only have about £60 in it (plus the 25 hours), so no complaints here.I reckon a quick re-application of Ronseal in the Autumn and another in the Spring will keep it fresh and avoid the prospect of having to spend hours and hours in the garden trying to bring it back from the dead, so that's my plan going forward.

Very nice finish and easy to apply
Applied with a rag on 20 year old outdoor teak table after sanding it down to clean wood. As others have said, the first coat takes some time to apply as it soaks in quite quickly. Second and third coats much quicker. Delighted with the finish which feels much nicer that the teak oil which I have previously used. Time will tell how well it lasts and wil post an update in the spring. Suprisingly good coverage. I have about half a can left after doing the table (about 6ft by 3 ft) with three coats. Best technique for applying was to put some into a small plastic tub ( I collect small Xmas pudding containers for this sort of thing) and dip the rag into into it. Holding the rag over the opening and inverting takes far too long.

Goes a long way!
Actually bought this by mistake. I thought I’d clicked on plain teak oil but, although it says ‘furniture’ on the tin, I used it to finish treating my cedar panelled garage door. I feared there might be an obvious difference where I’d used a different product but no, it blended in perfectly. Easy to apply with an old rag and still plenty left in the tin to do a side door and garden bench too. Still loads left to do my free standing cold frame/mini greenhouse and a couple of chairs! Particularly excited to read it could spontaneously combust (like all oils) but sadly, no such excitement so far. Good product.
