These are appropriate for MTB. A little hot in the summer but about as breathable as you could hope for.

I love these shorts. The between-the-leg padding is a bit weird at first but its really nice when sitting in the seat for long periods. I went out on a couple of 90+ degree days with these on as shorts and they look fine.

These offer good protection and also making sitting on the bike more comfortable. I put them under my riding jeans.
